We come here often and usually the food is excellent and the cooks are fun to watch. We arrived on a Thursday night before 5pm. This is the first time that we had this Cook. He was a small guy and appeared rattled. Somebody needs to take him back and teach him a remedial course in how to cook. First of all I've never had anybody put as much teriyaki sauce on everything as he did. I don't even like teriyaki sauce. He then proceeded to make the rice, which everyone at a table of eight had ordered, and only added three eggs for eight people. He then proceeded to add 2 tbsp of garlic and once again too much teriyaki sauce. He didn't mix it up enough so that when he served it, it had big balls of white rice. My husband and I both ordered filets which were supposed to be cooked medium rare which ended up being rare and he cut it into pieces that were way too big. Again he used about 2 tbsp of garlic for two filets. I had to ask for a knife to cut my filet into bite size pieces and I had to remove the garlic from my plate because it was overwhelming. We had to ask for yum yum sauce and soy sauce because he never asked anybody if they wanted it before serving our meals. He had started preparing the vegetables at the beginning of his cooking. They were almost exclusively broccoli very little zucchini etc again he added an overwhelming amount of garlic. Where he had cooked them they did not get enough heat to cook them thru so they were not hot and way too raw. Basically it was not a good meal and I paid $100 for it. I blame the restaurant management because obviously this young man had not been given enough instruction on how to cook on the hibachi. My husband and I live in uptown New Orleans and it was a long way to drive in traffic to have a...
Read moreLast night was my friends birthday so we went out to eat with a little group. The food was pretty good but the service was lacking. For starters our chef doing the hibachi wasn’t the best. Some of his jokes and attitude made me uncomfortable. I think it’s worth mentioning that he also messed up a few times with his tricks and just seemed to give up on the showy part of it after that. My next issue was that my boyfriend and I were sharing food as it can be kind of pricey. The portions of noodles and vegetables were decent but we barely got any meat. We ordered the chicken and scallops thinking it would be enough to split given the price. We each got 2 1/2 scallops and about 5 pieces of chicken each. Then we got the checks and multiple people in our party were surprised to see a $5 charge labeled “share plate.” When we asked the server about it he told us we were all charged 5 extra dollars for sharing food. Not only did this seem like an unessesary charge but we were not informed of this charge before hand. I’d like to mention that the tip is not optional so a meal that should’ve been about $30 was $43. To top it all off some of the staff was unfriendly. Like I said we went with a group for my friends birthday and wanted to take a group picture before we left. We found a server who wasn’t busy and asked him if he could take the picture for us. He straight up said no and then just walked away. Also at points throughout the night it was difficult to track down a server to help us when we needed something. It wasn’t a good experience but the food was alright and some of the staff...
Read moreI brought my son to experience hibachi along with a few family members today for my son's birthday. Asked one of the waitresses if we would be able to have our own section because one of the customers in the section was ordering shrimp and we are unable to eat seafood. She went get another employee who said that it was fine we would just have to wait about 15mins. We agreed to wait. Once reseated at a different section, the host explains that we needed to be seated on the end where she had placed the menus. We explained to her the reason we were waiting an extra 15mins. was so that we would be seated alone for the simple fact we are unable to have seafood and during the hibachi they cook everything that is ordered on the same grill, using the same utensiles. The waitress replies that we need to just sit at a regular table because they can't do that. After trying to explain the situation two more times I asked to speakwith the manager. The manager then came and again I explained the situation to him. Rudely he tells us that he will not do hibachi for just us even though the restaurant was empty (only one other habachi section had customers.) My son was very devastated because he was so excited about going to experience the habachi expecially for his birthday. My family and I will never return. You don't treat customers that way and expecially little children. Makes me wonder if they treat all customers with other food allergies the same way or was it just...
