WARNING!!! Don’t ever eat here! Rude employees, and unethical business practice. Would rate 0 stars if option was available. Ordered shrimp chimichanga. Waiter immediately picked up menus from me and my friend, and returned several minutes later asking which sauce I wanted on my chimichanga… “ red or cheese”. When I received bill, there was added $1.75 charge for “cheese dip”. When I questioned, was told by another employee was for “cheese” they added to my chimichanga. At no time before was I told of upcharge because I would have declined. A female waitress then returned with menu; different section shows additional charge fees. I eat out often at various restaurants and had no problem paying up charge for shrimp chimichangas, but told them they needed to remove $1.75 charge for “cheese dip” that I never ordered or received. They said they couldn’t remove charge, so I asked for manager. A overweight Hispanic female in her early 20’s came to table and said she was the manager. She refused to remove $1.75 charge, became argumentative and kept repeating it’s “only a dollar”, “nothing is free”, and “you don’t get to eat appetizers free”. I never ordered or ate any appetizer, and fully expected to pay for $15 shrimp chimichanga; just didn’t want to pay $1.75 they added to my bill. She laughed and said she didn’t care when I said I was going to give bad review, and that this just cost the waiter his tip. She initially refused to give me her name, but then said “Jessica Vellasi” laughing as she walked away from table. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would have fired her immediately if she was one of my employees. If “Jessica Vellasi” is the manager, and Los Compadres continues this unethical business practice of upcharging customers without informing of additional fees, her rude and juvenile behavior will cost this restaurant future business from me, my husband, friends, neighbors, and business associates. Word of mouth and social media are powerful platforms. I also suspect “Jessica” was not her real name, and that this is probably a family business not doing well which is why they try to upcharge...
Read moreWhen you go to a restaurant it is mostly about the food, right? The food was okay, but mostly bland. If you put enough salsa on it the taste improved. The salsa was good. The chips were a bit thick, hard, and tasted of the oil in which they were fried. The salsa was good and made them palatable. We had the sample platter as an appetizer. It seemed as if it was still frozen when we came in. I had the L5 'Pepe's' Chili Relleno & Beef Taco. The chili relleno was good but a bit bland. The beef taco was just like the Taco Bell special. The refried beans and rice were good. My wife had the L13 Fajitas Special. She liked them. A good 'tell' as to if the food is authentic mexican food is how many mexicans are eating there. There were no mexicans eating there. The atmosphere was nice, somewhat authentic, colorful & circus like. Our waitress, Monica, was nice & good. A big negative is that they charge you to use a credit card and it is not disclosed until after they charge you for using your...
Read moreThis is truly saddening because I've never had to leave a bad review for any restaurant, but my lunch ended up with me puking up rotten barbacoa and nachos into the sink. Never in my life have I ate something rotten enough to cause me to puke. Poor quality control. Slow service, however the waitress I spoke to on the phone was very helpful. But not only did I end up with food poisoning but beyond their jalapenos their food was just awful. The chips were very stale. The fries were soggy and without any seasoning. The beef on my ladies burger was just dry and chewy and was served with some strange textured surprise that neither of us could identify, I usually like to give every place the benefit of the doubt because restaurant work can get difficult,I can say from experience but the fever, stomach aches and puking just make this place a big no-go for me.I won't be trying them again. Hopefully nobody else has to experience anything similar...
