Myself and my softball were in town for a local tournament. We are all from Houston and wanted to eat local and enjoy the experience. When we looked up the restaurant on Google, we noticed a great menu and good reviews on their food and staff. My wife and I arrived first and spoke with the hostess asking if there was a reservation for 10. She went inside and came back out with her manager. According to the manager they "don't allow reservations on music night". We acknowledged that but asked if they could seat 10. The manager replied back that we "would have to sit at separate tables, with separate waiters and separate checks". We both thought that was fine. When we walked in to meet the rest out our team because they walked in through the front the manager made sure to chase us in and verbalize again we would be at separate tables and it would he a minute to set up. As we all stood at the front of the restaurant, we noticed open tables. The manager said those tables were reserved for other patrons (but she doesn't do reservations on music night). When we questioned about sitting inside that's when she informed us those tables were reserved amd she doesnt do BIG table reservations. As the 10 of us waited at the front, the manager came back over a second time to tell us about this "not having tables set up for us yet". We offered the suggestion of putting tables together (there was only one table of patrons inside the restaurant) to which she replied "those were reserved" and that we would now have to wait 20 minutes for that table to leave and we would all be on one check now. My wife asked if we could get drinks with the bartender as we waited to which she was told by the manager "only if he has the time and isnt too busy with the outdoor patrons". The restaurant missed out on a group that respects the service industry and knows how to show it. I've never experienced such disrespect from a local restaurant and outright lies. If she did not want us there, all she had to do was speak up. Instead she treated us like second class citizens. We come to this area every year, we will be sure to never come back and tell others to...
Read moreThe atmosphere is casual and laid back, but with some refined touches (such as the fresh flowers at each table) ; the décor is open and eclectic. The service was phenomenal and the food arrived quickly after we ordered. The food... where to start? The presentation was beautiful, and fresh; The flavors were subtle and finely balanced -- we ordered the oyster BLT and the shrimp tacos. It was evident that care was taken when preparing the oysters for the BLT as they were golden and crisp on the outside, and succulent and flavorful in the middle. If you're craving an oyster sandwich, I highly recommend their oyster BLT. The fish tacos obviously were made using fresh ingredients, and the shrimp were grilled to perfection. Their beverage options were also high quality artisinal drinks that match the style of food served. Overall this establishment is definitely worth...
Read moreLive Music is a great thing, however, early dinners could have been serenaded were they could sit next to each other and have conversation. Early dining with amplified sound not so great. However, the Grilled Salmon plating was beautiful as well as the flavors. The beet salad would have knocked it out the park had it been chilled prior to serving. The natural sugars of the beet were missing having eaten them at room temperature, the julienned carrots would have been highlighted the chilled beets perfectly off the bitterness of the bed of kale ( extremely bitter due to it also not having a chill). The citrus dressing brought it together having the acidic but sweet flavor. It was really nice. Lovely plating. 😍 it's worth...
