It was like an hour from close but I'm not big on crowds or anything like that . .so basically it was two tables and a few more walked in behind us it seemed as if the table in front of us" food took a while but in hindsight I'm sure just like us they just sat down after ordering bc we didn't actually see them order it was just a given that they had maybe already eaten but ...ours came out right after and no problems with it at all ...they have but don't have service there at the same time if you know what I'm getting at....once upon a time Lees was self service everything.that said the young man .just let us eat we we got food and was all ears for if we asked for something he want over bearing or anything...You Know ..Can i take this or can i take that...Like shout-you fast i just finished with that plate i barely put my fork down. Mya can relate I'm sure ......been on that since a 1st grader but 😆 I love the sliders exactly like the big giant burger but only for a lil sweet lady such as myself ...(All sweet ladies 😉) Hell they are perfect for those little sweet boys and girls we have too...well shoot eat what ya wanna lol so it depends son that appetite and ya cash flow. And ....so sliders two of them always one for later lol ...fries .and onion rings ..and LIKE MY ABSOLUTE FAVE...bc I'm NOT SURE WHERE they have Dip in Dots ..on tap....ha!....as in not a deep freezer that reminds me of what we put our daily catch in ..(fishy!!) just playing....but idk how much it costs they are already satisfying and believe it or not really priced fair... considering the availability of the product just isn't anywhere else I can think of in this town off the top my head ...try the banana split .love ....and believe it or not the cookie dough looks like it will be a miss but very much not that. And cotton candy...if u know one that's good let me know I'm try that...
Read moreHave lived here for 3 years now, always passed by and wanted to stop and check this place out… I fell for the “Since 1901” sign… Finally today I was craving for a burger and decided to give it a try…. 47 minutes to get order #3!!!! Which is 2 (1/4lb) burgers, large fries, 2 medium sodas and 2 pies….
47 minutes!!!
I know everyone has a but day…. BUT: 3 persons who placed orders after me got theirs first… I stood up and asked what was going on! They said my order was coming next… it still took a while… in total 47 minutes!
Finally the order arrived… the ketchup bottle on the table was almost empty, I saw that they were busy but nothing crazy 4 tables 2 persons in line plus whatever else on the phone… so I stood up and grabbed another ketchup bottle from another table, also empty, no problem went to the next one, empty as well, the third table and all empty… lady comes by and I ask for ketchup, she goes to another table and grabs another bottle, brings it to me and guess what? Yes… empty as well… she says all of them are low… I said ok I can wait I already waited 47 minuta for my order… you can go inside the kitchen and refill one bottle… she gave me looks! But did as told…
Hamburger was meh… bun was cold… Fries were decent…
The experience terrible…
I thought how come they have made it since 1901??? Or maybe there is a new management but if they continue like this, they won’t make it too...
Read moreLiving in a small town, you are bound to find mom and pop places. While Lee's share the same name as the larger franchise brand, it is wholly owned and operated by a family in the town of Slidell. You can definitely tell based on the aesthetic, as it has been around since the 1950s. Even the cash register has survived many storms.
As for the menu, the choices are your usual, albeit in abundance. The burgers, club sandwiches, hot sausage, etc...all with varying sizes for any one person. However, the difference i have noticed is how they never changed the formula and (from what I observed), the sizes remained, and even larger.
I ordered the 1 lb Lee Burger with a large fries. First time, with the caramelized onions into the one pound beef, and currently, without it. I have to say, the caramelized onions really settled a very filled and satisfied experience on a nicely tasted, albeit slightly soft bun. This further cements my self-described "Burgermeister" title, as someone who values quality and Lee's delivered.
This establishment off of W Gause is truly a fine place to dine-in, dine-out and even a place to hang out, as there is a skate ring nearby (walking distance). So, when you have the chance, check out Lee's Hamburgers off of W Gause in Slidell. The small time quality in food and familiarity remains utterly...
