Went at 2pm on a Monday for my first time there. Hubby was craving street tacos, but went for the al pastor burrito (marinated pork.) It was enormous and delicious.
I had carne asada Tampiquena. A thin, marinated grilled flat steak, enough to share, plus rice, beans, salad, avocado AND 2 cheese enchiladas! A stack of homemade corn tortillas, plus red and green salsa--- I was glad to have skipped breakfast this day!
It is a small dining area with maybe 8 tables inside, but with 4 two-top areas outside, so on a nice day you can watch the Haughton, LA rat race speed on by LOL. But many stop at this wonderful taqueria, and with good reason! In fact, for it being way after the lunch rush, the phone never stopped ringing and the counter was steadily occupied with people coming in to place orders. To me, that is a sign of a place with good food.
They close, I believe, at 7pm and from then to midnight, you can get their many delicious foods from the bright red food truck parked out front. I would be remiss to not mention the wonderful woman who served us. Sweet, attentive, and explained each dish we considered, although we had studied the menu online beforehand. That is helpful advice to you as well....

It was quite busy when we came in. I grabbed a menu and sat down so I could figure out what to get since this was my first time here. I knew I wanted tacos and decided to go with 2 beef Fajita & 2 pork Pastor. My baby girl got the child’s pollo quesadilla dinner. The food arrived fairly quickly. My daughter loved the rice and beans on her plate. The tacos were good but just shy of being great. Having said that, they are the best tacos I’ve had in the area so far. The beef fajita tacos were the best. The Pastor just being too fatty to enjoy. The Pastor were different than any other Pastor I’ve had, being marinated in a deep red sauce.
They bring out two hot sauces, mild & hot, and to most people they will both be hot. They are packing some heat but have a great flavor.
More than likely, I will be back to try some of the many other varieties...

From the moment I walked in, the friendly cashier made me feel right at home. Her fluency in both English and Spanish added a personal touch that enhanced the welcoming atmosphere. Now, let’s talk about the food! I ordered the Torta Cubana, and it was nothing short of amazing. The combination of ham, sliced hotdog, and breaded steak created a savory explosion of flavors. Topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and a generous dollop of sour cream, it was a satisfying and hearty meal. If you're looking for authentic flavors and a warm, inviting environment, Taqueria Sin Frontera is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more...
