Waffle House — Restaurant in Louisiana

I have generally liked going to this Waffle House, but fairly certain I would prefer to not return to this one again. I placed a to go order during their shift change which I totally understand that does require some things to occur like tipping out etc.

That being said, my fiancée’s food (an All Star) had 0 bacon, burnt hash browns and ham. Sure, my fault for not checking on the missing bacon but burning ham and hash browns is a feat in itself. I expected better, but guess should certainly lower my already low expectations at this location. Kind of absurd to have 6 employees behind the counter sitting around with two tables waiting to be seen prior to me placing my to go order.

While I definitely could have thought to send the food back, or look to get a refund I did not receive a receipt and when you’re hungry you’re not thinking of the possibility of your food being near inedible.

Overall, I’m just disappointed and I believe things should be better here. This certainly wasn’t a staffing issue, especially with having an employee talk and boast how “I’ll just work until 4 AM if this person doesn’t show up!”

Hope that you all are able to gain something from this, or just realize that taking some extra time to make sure things come out to reasonable standards is...

Went in to place an order, only the cook was in there. Sat there for about 7 to 10 mins then both waitresses came in from the back door. Passed right by me like they ain't even see me sitting at the high bar. Only one sitting there. They knew I had not too long come in because they were outside by some car when I pulled up and saw me got out and go into the building. Sat there a couple more mins while they chatted and one played on their phone. Then they started messing with the dishes. Not once greet me nor made an effort to take my order. Like dam I'm not welcome here is something. Not to mention the cook looked right at me also when I walked in and didn't even tell them to take my order, which they already knew my order hasn't been taken. I looked at them the whole time. After I saw they weren't trying to take my order I got up and left. Like what's going on in people's heads nowadays?! Are managers even doing their jobs the way they suppose to? Had a bad experience at this particular location several months ago. I try to avoid this waffle house if I can at all costs now, even though it is the closest one to me in location. Everytime I go to waffle house, I get the same thing. I know the price of it by now. Called in a togo order here. They never give you a total over the phone. When I arrived to pick up my order, the total was higher than it would normally be (yes I had already calculated the 10 % tip that goes on all togo). I asked the waitress if I could get a receipt. She said they don't have receipts. I also know this as I've been to waffle house enough time to pick up on how they do things. I asked if she could write my prices down then and make me a receipt. After that her attitude completely flipped. I left before there became an altercation.
