Whataburger is our favorite burger chain, and I always give them 5 stars, but this place (in Lafayette, LA) was so bad, so disfunctional, so disappointing... We would have left and gone some other place, but passing through on I-10 we didn't know where else to go. It started with being ignored by the crowd of folks behind the counter, while waiting we took turns going to the filthy restrooms, and then continued to wait. A lady I suppose to have been in leadership walked by asking if I'd been helped (I said "not yet") and she said ok and walked away, she returned before 3or4 minutes and hollered for a young girl to get my order. The girl went to a register at the other end of the counter and stood there, when I walked over, it appeared to startle her and she knocked a large stack of Table Tents on the floor. She started picking them up and putting them back on the counter, finally finishing and asking me what I'd like. Confusion ensued as I placed a simple order and scanned my phone for the App reward program. She got the order wrong. She wasn't able to allow me to use a reward. She wasn't able to find the Table Tent with the number she/the register had assigned our order. I dug through the scattered tents finding the number matching on our receipt and we got our drinks and found a table (the least filthy we could find). When the food finally arrived - it looked like they'd dropped it on the floor and stepped on it.
While we love Whataburger, this particular restaurant was the worst restaurant I've been in, the staff appeared to have no idea how to do their jobs nor operate an eating establishment. I'm glad Whataburger's restaurants in Texas are...
Read moreWhataburger used to be one of my favorite burger places. I lived in San Marcos and Austin for years. Their burgers always were freshly made and I loved their pancakes for breakfast. I moved to South Carolina a few years ago where they never heard of Whataburger. I was very sad, especially because their pancakes were so good. I only get to eat at Whataburger once or twice a year when I am in Texas. On my drive to Texas this time I found a whataburger in Alabama. I think around Mobile. I got my regular whataburger meal. It looked like the hamburger patty had become much thinner and also looked like it had been cooked some time ago. The ice tea tasted kind of raunchy like it was instant. So a few days later after I got to San Marcos I stopped in for lunch at one on I35 right there by hwy 123. My burger looked and tasted a little fresher but still was pretty thin. I just don't remember them being that small and flat. I am inclined to think that they are cutting costs. Maybe new leadership it trying to cut the budget is what comes to mind. But the kicker is the ice tea. Not only tasted like instant but was so harsh I ended up getting a stomach ache. By the time I got home I hit the bathroom and had such a bad case of diarrhea it totally emptied my stomach. Sorry to say but I think I 'll go to five guys from now on. Sad because I always looked forward to going to...
Read moreGreat local fast-food business establishment.Their burgers (the type of taste the meat gives off too your taste sensors while consuming it) are certainly unique/different in taste; other than other leading brand same type fast-food establishments such as Mc. Donald's, Burger King, Sonic's, Checkers, & etc... Your prices ARE NOT in correlation and/or fairness of equalness with same type business establishments offering the same type food services to the local and/or transit/travel ppl. Remember, I've used the above fast food restraunts ONLY as a reflection of an example as to how the meat of their hamburgers are cooked & the finished taste it emits...not overall comparing those ppl's business too your business; pondering which is GREATEST. But... remember, at least 2 out of those mentioned, I'm thinking (based on History) have been in same business as WHATABURGER for 4-5 (maybe +) decades mastering the technique(s). Your establishment was certainly clean/sanitized & appearing in compliance with COVID-19 "Protocols & Workforce Policies Towards General Public Consumers Sanitation of Spreadable Viruses. Despite the questionable prices; I'd highly recommend this fast-food restraunt to family, friends, transit-travelors, &...
