Chicago's Jerk Tacos — Restaurant in Louisville

Became aware of this place a few months ago driving by. Today as I was looking to order something to eat, I thought to give this place a try. Over the phone went will and a reasonable time of 20-25 minutes was given. Arrived about 5 minutes late and let the place know I was there to pick up my order, to which I was kindly informed it will be out in a few minutes.

Okay, no big issue. They a little behind. Waited about 15 more minutes and still not ready. Went to the door rang the doorbell. Someone came out and I asked about my order.

This where it went a little down, informed the person I had the pasta order, they said what pasta order. I said the pasta order. They than went on to say a little rudely, yeah what pasta order you not the only person ordering pasta, was it salmon...!

I looked at them for a moment and chose to help them. I informed them I thought they only had one type of pasta and it was the normal pasta on their menu. I was informed it would be ready in 20-25 minutes and its been 40 minutes. They said give them a couple minutes and came out a couple minutes later.

First off, I try to support "black" business if I can. Which is what I was doing.

Second, the wait and lack of update of order is something that needs addressing as a business for productive client engagement.

Third, staff dealing with customers need to be a bit more well rounded, if you as a business is late with an order or... the responds needs to be more welcoming and less defensive. (I too I'm a business owner and when I I'm late or something is off. I'm apologizing to the client and letting them know what's the update, giving a discount or free service. All in a respective manner and tone.). Maybe some training videos or even staff acting with each other for customer engagement would be productive.

Forth, it may be a productive action to implement names with orders or even order numbers..., cause even though I clearly informed the staff of my order. They could only gather my order if it was something unique about it(you had fish, shrimp...). Taking a name... with the order pen points what someone is referring too.

Food wise, it was okkkkkay. dish being labeled as a alfredo lacked the alfredo tones and was a bit watery. Alfredo's are rich creamy and thicker sauces. Chicken was on a the sweet side, which was not the best. Adding a richer sauce and maybe a undertone of heat(red pepper flakes) would be a more well rounded dish. And a little green garnish is productive as well.

Would I go back, I can't say at...

I am so disappointed. I called my food in at 4:33 pm. Was given a 25 minute time period. Got there a little earlier but told them to take their time. 30 minutes later food was not ready. No problem at all. Another 20 minutes food was still not ready. A car pulls up behind me and they bring the food right out. Comes to my car and tells me 5 minutes. One of the guys dropped a pan a food and it was being made over but this was 50 minutes after I had placed my order. 20 minutes later. Food was still not ready. I had to be at work and was to late to work with no dinner... This was one of my favorite spots too man but this was just unacceptable. I understand things happens and they were being accommodating but for a order of tacos and a burger.... I hate this. I always rave about food and the people but today just wasn't it.

RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: The low star was a reflection of my service today! In my origingal statement I advised that things happen and the service was trying to be accommodating. However when I did call YOU, I advised on how much time was needed because I had to be at work. I got 2 different times. One from you and another gentlemen but still no food. Being from Chicago I just had to have some Jerk Tacos. For making the hour-long journey it was worth it. Now my biggest grip is that there is no inside dining but it's understandable while restaurants are transitioning.

We pulled in front and used their code to get to the menu that has a lot of options. While doing that one of the employees came to the car took our order and gave us instructions for our next visit.

The food came out promptly in less than ten minutes. They even added some bottled water which was awesome because it was hot outside. So the service was great.

The food also was delicious; not too spicy and not overly sweet. With fresh vegetables, chips and salsa. My wife had this for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'd recommend again and if you are wanting to eat somewhere nice the river front is only another ten minutes away. Where...
