Elliott Park — Attraction in Louisville

This park needs alot of work...like a major update. ALSO, its frustrating to know that there is a school nearby but this park isn't suitable enough for children unless you go early in the morning or stay on the very far end at the little playground during the afternoon and even thats pushing it. Can't get on the swings because there's roughly 20+ people set up, parked in their cars, drinking and smoking just a few feet a away and it also needs to be replaced. If you swing on it too hard, it lifts up from the ground.(NOT SAFE!). This is definitely not a place to take the kiddos for a picnic. And the poor basketball court is just dilapidated. Its also unfair that the city comes and cleans up a few times a week and people deliberately throw trash on the ground when there are at least 5 garbage cans just a few feet from each other. I almost feel like I need to call Dawn Gee and have a 'take back our streets' moment in regards to this park. Children need a clean, safe environment to run and...

It was great, but I really think that Metro should put more money into this long loving park, why you say? I can see the difference between parks out in different areas, now I know some may say "that it will get destroyed", but that's not the case with this park. What the park needs is more trees, because the larger trees that are there may fall or get damage by wins. The park also needs more seating, and even events.

I have only been to this park a few times. I have passed by it a lot of times. It's a nice park it always have a lot of people hanging in there. My main concern is my safety when you see a lot of people hanging in a place drinking and doing what ever it makes me think twice about going. I do see people having cook outs picnics party's and so on and they be having fun. So I can't say nothing...
