A well hidden gem. We had been wanting to eat here for a while since it was so close to work. However, we didn't check their business hours on Google and dropped in on a Monday. Our mistake. They are open Thursday - Sunday. Thur/Fri=11am-8pm Sat=1pm-8pm Sun=1pm-6pm.
It's now Friday, and what better day to overstuff yourself at lunch than a Friday? I ordered a ½ slab of ribs, polish sausage w/onions and peppers, beef frank, baked beans, and mac & cheese.
The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. They had actual pork flavor, unlike the bland stuff you buy at the grocery, which I really appreciated. The beef frank was delicious even without condiments. Pleasing smokey flavor and of good quality. The Polish sausage was just spicy enough and not over the top. The peppers and onions complimented the spices and smoke flavor perfectly. The mac & cheese was creamy and enjoyable. Everything I ate was exceptional except for the baked beans, they were underwhelming and on the bland side.

My first clue should have been the phone number listed went to a wireless number with no greeting except the customer was unavailable. While this doesn't say a thing about the quality of the food, it does speak volumes about the professionalism of the business. But that is a side note...let's get to the food.
I gave 1 star because I was able to chew and eat a small portion of our large order of rib tips. They were tough and I mean shoe leather tough. The mac and cheese was the boxed mix version. They used pole beans which I generally like, but did not enjoy due to the hair I found in them.
We jumped off the highway on our way home from ATL for this and I wish we kept driving. I just don't have anything positive for this review.
*update: I just read Teri Mathews review and the owners response. I wish I'd read it first...I would have never stopped reading a response like that...
Read moreOverall the ribs tips were excellent.... Very smoky very tender. Some were a little overcooked, but most of them were perfect. If I was just writing about them by themselves, they'd get four stars. I prefer them better without the sauce. The sauce just doesn't have enough flavor in it. The macaroni and cheese was not it. I did have a chance to taste it before I realized there was hair in it. It had some kind of spice to it and the taste was bitter more like something was spoiled. The potato salad tasted like it was store-bought. It had too much mustard, the potatoes were half cooked, and they put salt in it. SALT DOES NOT GO IN POTATO SALAD. The pineapple slaw wasn't half bad. It's only coleslaw with pineapples added to it. All in all... I'd only return for the meat... The sides...
