Our experience was one of sad, frustrating indignant surprise. Traveling from Bardstown to enjoy a lunch with a friend, my spouse and I were “treated” at what this good friend described as a “better restaurant” with unique and tasty dishes. Two of us having hearing difficulties, we requested a quieter area to eat if available. We were seated next to the BAR, in front of a table of quite loud, younger ladies, apparently totally enjoying their time (which honestly to me seemed opposite of my request.). After studying the menu a few minutes, drink order was taken and our waiter returned with them…one having lipstick on the cup was sent back for a clean one. Service was quite slow, things were either forgotten, or we had to remind about them. Ice had to be requested, cream was forgotten, refills were almost non-existent. Appetizer was tasty, fried green tomatoes. After quite a long time and a reminder as well, our order was 1/2 delivered and that was by one of the managers, because our waiter was busy with everyone else but us. Two out of three meals sat getting cold while we waited for the remaining meal. The MANAGER was asked to expedite the food, and subsequently our waiter returned to explain the “original had been accidentally dropped” and the kitchen was making a new one. Really!!?! After another 10-15 minute wait the food finally came. 1) my meal - crab & fried green tomato & egg w/mornay sauce was eh, and getting cold; 2) spouse’s meal was vegetable omelette & fried potatoes— again getting cold from the wait; 3) friend treating us to the meal had shrimp and grits plus waffle - LATE; 4) we were the last ones served in the room of at least 12 other customers, and ironically we were the ONLY table with an African-American ( who happened to be our host)! First and only time we will grace Mesh’s doors. The bill was not charged, but the experience should outrage anyone looking for equality in customer service along with any representation of Louisville’s finer...

We celebrated our company's 5th anniversary at Mesh today. We were a party of nine in a restaurant that seemed only 30% occupied. I am accustomed to this restaurant being much busier. To be brief, some of our portion sizes were significantly smaller than they should have been, significantly smaller than in the past ... and of course prices were significantly greater than in the past. I understand that there have been price increases but I don't expect higher prices and far less food. My lunch was an Applewood chicken salad. Greens with apples and cranberries and chicken breast on top. One of our other guests order the same item. The first thing I noticed about my lunch was that the chicken was not a chicken breast. It was thin slices from a chicken breast and probably represented 50% of a normal size chicken breast. It was probably four or five ounces of meat. Worse, because it's so inexpensive, the greens were roughly 60% of what they should have been in what they used to be. Overall the salad was tiny and the amount of chicken was ridiculously small. It would cost almost nothing to double the amount of greens and the profit margin would still be exponentially High. There's no excuse for so few greens and the amount of chicken was embarrassing. I would have taken a photo but I was surrounded by other guests and did not want to kill the mood by complaining about my food. Have to wait my partner agreed with me that the amount of food was minimal and it certainly was not commensurate with the price. My partner, sending beside me, had the steak fries. She and I have both ordered this item in the past and I would estimate that the amount of steak is probably 60% of what it used to be. Probably 6 ounces of meat. Overall, we felt that we had been taking...

I went with high hopes and left disappointed after spending $$$ for lunch. This is my 3rd time at Mesh, i had reservation for 7 for my husband's birthday today. I specified in my reservation through opentable that its a birthday and I have a 6 month old baby so we're we sit is important. I had one foot between me and every waiter that needed to run a check so there's constantly someone at my shoulders.

Our waiter had to constantly reach over our heads (not her fault) since there was no room to reach us all to refill drinks or serve our food (the restaurant was 60% empty). Our appetizers arrived quickly, we were sitting for about 15 min after we were offered any refills for our drinks or chips for the dips we had, our main orders also were not taken; luckily, their kitchen is quick and we were served shortly after. Our waitress wasn't rude but had no smile, the whole experience was a bit off. If it is your first time, the restaurant is nice and my other 2 experiences I had a great time but today it sucks because it was for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere and where we were seated, not having a baby car seat holder and our waitress was lifeless today (I understand everyone can have a bad day) were all reasons that I am not so happy about my selection for the location. My in laws drove from Bardstown and my mom is visiting all the way from Morocco, we bragged too much about how awesome this place is and it was just fine. We decided to order dessert elsewhere.

I might revisit in the future. Nice outdoor space if its not...

Omg this was the best birthday dinner !!! Our waitress Beth was AMAZING!!! Very attentive, great personality and went above and beyond to make my day special 💕. We ate outside and the fire pit and patio heaters were a perfect addition to the ambiance of the evening The food - the crab spinach and artichoke dip was the best I’ve ever had and the pita chips were perfect! The chicken cranberry poppyseed salad was the best salad I think I’ve ever had. The chicken was grilled to perfection and super moist. The pork chop was great but the sweet potato purée was just enough to make you wanna smack your mama! Now dessert - this literally was the best chocolate mousse with a hint of orange in the homemade whip cream; with oatmeal crisp cookies that literally tied it all together. ❤️ I literally ate it so slow just to savor every bite. I felt like I was transcended to another time period … it was out of this world. Let’s not forget the orange - brown sugar cheesecake. It was a close second and put the Cheesecake Factory to shame ! Highly recommend!!!! I will be back

This place is what you come to expect from fine dining. The service was fast and professional. The restaurant was clean and well organized. And let not forget why we came. The food was on point. And to be honest the best part wasn't even the 60 dollar steak that was worth every penny but the delicious broccoli. Overall a great experience and will be coming back. Thank you Mesh for the wonderful night out with Friends.

We came here for dinner on Sunday March 16 at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area. While it was good, I’m scratching my head over why the locals love it, as it just wasn’t anything to write home about… The service and appetizers (kung pao calamari and fried green tomatoes) were great, but our entrees were mediocre. I ordered the mahi mahi and though the grit cake was great, the fish was a bit dry and flavorless. My partner ordered the chicken madeira and it too was badly in need of seasoning. However, our friends that got the butternut squash bisque raved about it, so maybe I should have ordered that? I know this is a rather petty grievance, but the dining room felt sparsely decorated, as if I was eating a meal in a hotel conference room. Also, as we sat down, the guests next to us left, and the staff left the unoccupied table dirty for an awkwardly long time… Based on the other reviews, I’m thinking Mesh has good nights and bad nights, and we just picked a weird night and entrees?
