O'Dolly's Lounge and Restaurant — Restaurant in Louisville

hate to be this person but i’m a regular here and i can’t keep my mouth shut anymore. we come here a lot because it’s in our neighborhood, the food is good and cheap. but service needs a serious override. i’ve worked in restaurants/restaurant management (still currently) for 11 years. i hate to be a karen, i hate to complain and i always tip 20 percent even if service is lousy. you could spit in my face and call me ugly and id still apologize and give you 20 percent. i don’t know if they’re short staffed or what but at night they only ever have one server on the floor and the poor girl is always STRUGGLING and no one is ever helping her, i counted one night and she had more than ten tables to herself, including two big parties, so obviously service is never amazing with her but she’s nice enough and i know she’s trying. this isn’t about her. i went in for brunch this morning - there were 5 people including myself at the bar top and no other tables. i was the only woman and i was by myself. the server/bartender took my order, brought me my drinks and then literally never came over to me again. my food was delivered by the cook - nice guy. they never brought me butter, jelly, syrup, whatever - not a big deal but i waited for maybe 20 minutes for my server to check on me so i could ask for it and she never did. at one point i thought she had walked out or something but then she popped back up and was cutting up with the men at the bar but still never said a word to me, never offered a refill or another drink, literally it was like i wasn’t even there. the other server who came in later was the one who got me what i needed and my check, but for some reason my original server popped right back up when i put my card up and ran the payment, weird she was never anywhere near me until it was time for me to pay. i was so annoyed i didn’t even want to tip her but i tipped 15% anyway because i’m a wuss and i felt genuinely bad being so annoyed with my experience. i’m sure people will read this and roll their eyes, especially people who work at the restaurant - bc i get it, ive been there, i deal with stupid complaints every single day, but i just needed to get this off my chest. o’dolly’s needs to take a serious look at their service, get that poor night server some help, and make sure everyone is treating every customer with the same respect and care as the other. i don’t know if it was assumed i wasn’t worthwhile of good service bc i’m a younger woman, by myself, and dressed like billie eilish but not in a cool way so maybe they didn’t think they’d be making money off of me anyway……. idk but i’d be lying if it didn’t feel like i was being purposely ignored. i get you all are a staple biker bar in the community with a loyal clientele (i am a part of that) and you’ll be making money regardless of what i say, i get that, but i needed to get this off my chest because that was seriously effing ridiculous. i called to say this to a manager but i chickened out bc i do genuinely feel bad everrrrr saying anything negative about service but DO BETTER! please....

Went here a few times after work. I work 3rd shift, so I was looking for a place near by to go to after work, have a few drinks, meet people, & grab a bite to eat. Today after being there for awhile, mingling with customers, etc., even buying a few drinks for others I ordered my food to go. When I got it, it wasn’t made to go so I ask the bartender to fix that. She did so by just dumping it all in to go containers. Then when I ask for a bag to put it in, as I had more than one container, she caught an attitude and just laid the back on top of my containers . I was taken aback by this. The other bartender ended up bagging it for me. Seemed to me that all was good until the regular lunch customers started coming in for lunch, then I felt like it was all about them, & I seemed to be a bother to them. I spent a good amount of money & felt treated unfairly. Overheard that the owner was out of town, so don’t know if that had something to do with their treatment of me or not. The one bartender brought her boyfriend in with her, she must have been more interested in him than her job duties. Very poor customer service here to say the least! I will not be back. No way to treat newer customers! A call to the owner will be made upon her return. Very sad because I was only trying to socialize and...

O'Dolly's is A nice friendly atosphere to go and eat really good burgers and deep fried cauliflower and if you didn't call your order in ahead of time it's ok because you can play pool or shoot darts and have you a good drink of your choice while they prepare your food for you. The only reason I gave it 4 Stars was because they stop serving food at 9pm and I think they should have the kitchen open later. But if you and your family don't go there to eat you could always go for a drink there's usually a pretty good friendly crowd there without worrying about people fighting and stuff and they have an awesome karaoke on Saturday nights. And if you want to reserve a spot to celebrate your special someones birthday all you have to do is call in at least a week in advance. But All in all its a pretty good little lounge by day and bar by night. You just have to go and try it...
