I originally gave this restaurant a 5 star rating. However, I have changed this for the following reasons. The past two/three visits to Senor Panchos haven't been great. When walking in we are ignored for a while and stand there to be seated for quite a long time. When we are sat, the last few times, we have been, what feels like forgotten about, and other tables around us seated after us are being served before us. When we finally do get service, our drinks are rarely refilled, chips and salsa(when we ask for more salsa) is ignored. We have to ask many time for the same thing and it's usually disregarded. Our order is usually the same, the food comes out promptly, however the staff seem to take their time getting anything else. I may not come back anymore. There are places with servers that care more than the staff here. Nothing like grabbing a bite to eat and being ignored. The food is satisfying. Sometimes tastes a bit old, but still edible. It was better when Claudia and Hugo owned...
Read moreWe've not had a bad meal here, it is an as-expected experience. The restaurant is always clean when we arrive, usually right at opening time. The menu is extensive (too extensive?) and the service is friendly. There's just no 'spark' to make us crave Senor Pancho's. Others have mentioned small portions, and I'll try to be nice and say they are not generous. :) I'd like more chicken in my chicken-based enchilada, burrito, chimi, or quesadilla. There is not much in there. :( $3.25 for a soda is twice the price it should be, that is a sticking point with me for not just this restaurant. No place should be charging more than $2 for a soda, imo. We'd really enjoy some seasoning on the tortilla chips, and some zing in the salsa. Sure, you can add from the ubiquitous hot sauce bottles on the table (and we do), as the salsa is very tomato-forward. All in all, you will have a serviceable lunch at Senor Panchos. You will get charged a fee higher than most to use a credit card which...
Read moreI had better than normal experience at Senor Poncho’s. I’ve had mediocre food at two different Mexican restaurants in Alliance Ohio, and was less than impressed.
Number one thing about Senor Poncho’s, is the service staff, number two, their carnitas. The carnitas was pretty good, the beans were very good, the rice was good, the salsa was good, the chips were unique as they were salty throughout, not bad just different.
My only real critique would be, serve with wedges of lime and two to three different styles of salsa, and maybe introduce homemade tortillas, both corn and flour.
Let it be known, I will...
