Context: Went for dinner for the first time.

Positives:

Sat outside and really enjoyed dining in the outdoor area. The wooded area nearby provides both an interesting vantage point of the creek nearby and the trees make the area feel like a room. Definitely felt pleasant to dine there.

The wait staff was also very nice, and made sure we were taken care of, which was nice. It added to the pleasant experience, and we made sure to tip them well despite the negative below.

Negative:

Only one negative and it's hard to overlook... the entrees we got were just.. not good. The apps and drinks were yummy, but the entrees were poor.

Entrees we got were specials too. The short rib raviolis and the chicken margharita linguini?? If I remember correctly?

The raviolis were just extremely bland and doughy, instead of light, flavorfull, and al dente. And the sauce it came with was very floury, heavy, and bland. Sauce was also applied rather heavily over the ravis. It was just a floury, heavy, and flavorless bowl of goop. I'm no Gordon Ramsay, but that dish needs refinement, because it sounded delicious and has potential, but it was just not made well at all. Please go much lighter on the flour/roux and up the lemon/wine, salt pepper and garlic and you might have a winner. The mushrooms and onion are fine, but the flavors were BURRIED under the floury/heavy sauce.

The Chicken Margharita dish was also extremely bland, and the ingredients didn't seem to blend well together... Like they were all on the plate, but the sauce, or lack there of, wasn't tying everything together cohesively.... idk. It was just stuff on a plate, and needed seasoning BAD and a better sauce that melds all the ingredients together...

Verdict: Will probably not be back for dinner, but we did enjoy the outdoor area, service, drinks, and apps. Think twice about the entrees. No comment on the pizza - as we didn't order it, despite it looking...

Been going there since I was little boy. I used to get off the school bus and go in there to buy a bundle of 3 chocolate chip cookies and a Rosenbergers chocolate milk or tea (aka Rosie's). This was when they were in their original location.

Good cheese steaks. At one point in time they held the world record it's for the longest Cheese steak made. My family has eaten Mochias since the very beginning. They have always been consistent with good food and a great atmosphere filled with good service. Family owned and operated. Mochias has been like my "Cheers" growing up. They use to ask me all the time how my grandad and grandmom were doing. That is the kind of owners who run Mochias.

I feel like the quality of their food has fluctuated from great to good and back to great since the move to their current location. Overall, I have never been dissatisfied with any of my orders.

My go to foods there are cheese steak, chicken cheese steak, their cheese steak egg rolls (AWSOME) cheese fries, and their Alfredo with grilled chicken and broccoli.

I will be a loyal customer until one of us moves too far away. Even then, I would occasionally visit. Just like my grandmother did she. She moved to Florida. She always made it a point to come back to PA and make Mochias one of her stops before returning ing back to Florida. (side note. She would always make a stop at creamery tire to make sure her tires were ready for the trip back. Creamery tire has just as good as a review from me.)

Thank you Mochias for your many years of great service, good food and...

I ordered over the phone, had to repeat my order not once, not twice but 3 times. I ordered the chicken Marsala with NO MUSHROOMS, side salad NO TOMATO OR ONION, a ribeye sandwich with bbq sauce and funnel cake fries. As soon as I got there all 4 of the girls up front kept asking the name on the order and what I had ordered. They even asked me 3 seperate times like I had just walked in until I had said I was already being helped instead of them rushing around for the same order. I even made sure I reconfirmed that there was no mushrooms on the Marsala and no onions or tomatoes in the salad. I stood there waiting for about 15 minutes before getting my food. Now I understand it was a busy night I understand life is hectic sometimes. BUT, when I repeat myself multiple times and they seem to comprehend what I’m saying I’d assume my order would come out right. I get to my car and double check the food. Mushrooms were on the Marsala and onions and tomatoes were on the salad. I take it back in and sit there for another 10 or so minutes all for my food to not be great. The ribeye sandwich was smothered in bbq sauce, the Marsala did not taste like Marsala what so ever and even after getting another side salad with no onions or tomatoes there was still an onion in there. Nothing annoys me more then bad service and spending money on subpar food. This isn’t the first time they have messed up an order it has been everytime I’ve ordered this is just the last time I will be irdering...

Moccia's Train Stop is an excellent restaurant, operated by excellent people. Their food tastes great and portion sizes are incredibly large. The small sized cheesesteak sandwich is big, but the large sized one is gigantic! The individual pizza slices are huge too. I haven't eaten here for a while, since it's a bit far from my house, but everything that I have tried from the menu has tasted good. As a railfan, the train theme of the restaurant is well done. The former Reading Railroad's Perkiomen branch used to go past the building, and they have a lot of historical pictures from that line. They have model trains operating around the ceiling in one room, and other memorabilia around too. And finally, the owners are known for their fine, caring acts in the community. My wife was the recipient of such an act before I met her, and she is ever grateful for what they did for her. Update: Still as great as ever!

Nothing special. Heard so many good things but experienced none of them. The waitress was friendly but not personable, the food reminded me of something you’d get at a concession stand. Maybe we didn’t order the right things but the cowboy burger was boiled, not on a grill, rubbery and definitely not fresh. The bacon on it was soft and chewy, it was supposed to have bbq sauce on it- it didn’t, we requested some and got it but it should’ve been on it… The cheesesteak was what it was, fries were soggy- we dined in so no excuse as take out fries do get soggy- the sauce on the pizza was definitely from a can or jar- salty and disappointing. rush to go back. Nothing special.

First time here. And I WILL be back. As a truck driver I have had meals all over the country. And it is far and few that get 5 stars from me. The decor is quaint, this restaurant/ pizzeria is located in the old schwenksville train station. The food has great flavor ( I ordered ravioli lucia) the sauce was very robust and very flavorful, the ravioli were cooked to perfection, the shrimp were a hair over cooked, but still palatable. My fiancée ordered a daily special, parmesan crusted chicken in a spinach garlic sauce with gluten free penne pasta. We will be back, and if you haven't been here, you have no idea what your missing!
