It's been several years since I've been here. I went with friends the other day for both lunch and dinner. Both meals were really good. I was surprised at how good they were. Because of covid-19 the salad bar is minimal. It only has what looks like iceberg lettuce and several salads, so I passed on that. The Brookside omelet (I think that was the name) was really good. The 3 egg omelet was covered in a crab mixture like a crab cake and it was amazing. It's all covered in hollandaise sauce which is always good and they serve it with HASH BROWNS!!! Hard to find hash browns in our area. And they made them crispy just the way I love them. For dinner I shared a chicken salad wrap and sweet potato fries and they were both amazing. I'm very picky on my chicken salad and it was one of the best I've had. Wish I could order the chicken salad by the lb. I'll be coming back more often. Great service too. Probably helps that the group I was with, go there so much that they know all the servers by name. Feb 2022 - I got my husband hooked on coming every once in awhile. Great service and good food. Salad bar is full again. Creamy tomato soup is so good. Love the broccoli salad and cottage cheese on the salad bar. No more breakfast items all day. Chicken salad club was good. Their sweet potato fries are so good. Mother's Day 2022 - Chicken Brookside is really good along with Smoked Cheddar Potato soup on the salad bar. Kids loved the New York strip steak, crab cake, corn, and pineapple stuffing. Grandkids loved the cheeseburger and fries. Salad bar is still a fav of mine. Most people leave with half their meal to go. Servers are always so nice and do a great job. We were thankful to get reservations on such a busy day and thankfully they contained us with 3 little ones in a booth. Great job!!! August 2022 - we came for a quick dinner on a Friday night after remodeling all afternoon and were seated quickly. Our waitress Anajea was so nice and thoughtful as she served us. The Coconut shrimp with the citrus sauce was so good. I expected the citrus sauce to be spicy and it was not. It was sweet and delicious. Anajea even brought me cocktail sauce and tartar sauce in case I didn't like the citrus. The Italian wedding soup was the best I've ever had. I usually avoid it because I don't like it. My 12 yr old grandson loved the meatloaf and wants me to teach him how to make meatloaf. Everyone was happy. October 2023 - oh my gosh the food continues to get better and better. We love coming for the car shows each month and I keep trying new foods and specials. Tonight was Salmon Brookside and Shepherd's Pie. If you love it full of hamburger it's a winner. A week or two ago it was Chopped Sirloin which I loved and will be my new favorite and Chicken Brookside which my husband loves. I also love the Coconut Shrimp. I usually enjoy the salad bar and soups which are my favorite and take home most of my meal. Jenn and Anajea are wonderful servers and my husband commented how nice it is that they keep their staff long term whether it's high school or college kids bussing tables or hostessing or serving us. We appreciate all of you....
Read moreThe first couple of times after the pandemic we started to go and it wasn't the greatest service wise and food was lacking for the price and we just stopped going. Lets fast forward to last year what a difference. The salads bar is top notch and fresh. The staff are always kind and sweet even if they are super busy. The specials and soups are always interesting and good. We especially love the chicken braschetta on there specials menu. It think it always so good and it may be 16 but you get the soup and salada bar which is great. And you get a huge bowl that if you could try to complete eat in one sitting but you be stuff to the rim. But you can also just take it home. They also had a really good canola cake we tried around holidays recently. The place has a nice size too it. And is usually very quiet and intimate after long day. They also have a nice breakfast buffet with some items that you wouldn't necessarily seen before. This place is by card or cash but if you pay with cash the meal is little cheaper. I think the only down fall is that the front of the place gives you a really at home feel but the rest of the restraunt is kind of missing it. All together I will be definitely returning in the future for salad bar, the staff, and the braschetta special. Check it out for your self. If did before give it a second chance it may surprise you. Wishing them the best in...
Read moreI have to review our memorial day breakfast at Brookside because it was so lousy! This was the second time in a row i came for the breakfast buffet where the food was overdone. I had 3 ten yr. olds from a sleepover and myself. Just about everything was severely overcooked, bacon was burnt, little round homefries were like rocks and the pancakes were like cardboard! The 10 yr. old boys were eating watermelon and when they went up for their 3rd helping one of the women working there gave them a hard time. They wouldnt of had to eat that much watermelon if the other food was any good. They also stated they did not like the food either, so it was not just me! Upon checkout i was not greeted friendly by the overweight, grumpy, dirty blonde woman who looked angry. She asked me how everything was, so i honestly told her because i felt they need to know. After telling her the food was overdone, she said in a cocky voice "everyone else likes it". So i started to walk to the exit and i hear her tell the next patron in line about what i had said. I could not believe my ears, so i walk to the door and yell back for her to cheer up! Wow, i cannot believe that lady works the register, she has no business dealing with people. Sorry to say i will never be back for breakfast at Brookside after this. The food was lousy and i do not ever want to see that...
