We've been here a few times the past couple years and the same things persist. When coming in you are asked if you're there for flights or pints. It essentially doesn't matter since it's the same room with two lines. The next thing is that the table where you have the beer list and cards for the flights is dark and you can't see what the tap list says. Please put some lights over the table or something.
Now onto the beers, I generally like them. I have had mixed results with some of the special ones though. This trip we decided to try the blueberry lemonade slush, the root beer slush, the shore tea peach, and the lemonade.
The blueberry lemonade slush was the best one. Unfortunately we could only get a flight size because they ran out before we could get a couple pints. The Wawa shore tea was good and tasted like peach iced tea which was surprising. It was good but I got a pint and I think it is better in smaller amounts. I liked the root beer slush but it was super sweet, again it's better in a smaller amount like the flight size glass. The lemonade one I thought had a weird aftertaste for some reason.
Overall I like the place and most of their beers. I've just had mixed results with the specialty ones. Please put up some lights over the flight card table and make it less confusing when coming in. Maybe just have one line and signs over the bar indicating which side is for flights...
Read moreI am a huge fan of many Cape May Brewing beers and I was very much looking forward to the tasting room experience, but, something was not right.
Beers were good, but the “fun experience” was definitely missing, as compared to other brew houses. Somehow, being told to wait in line to get a hand stamp (Why the hand stamp? We have no idea!), the lack of missing beer menus left you doing NOTHING while standing there, lack of CUSTOMER seating while waiting (So I MEAN standing, though the attendant sat on his stool), then being directed to the flight card selection stand, rather than the beer.
When you just want to taste a few beers, then relax with a pint or two, this experience is, again, not fun. No food, no snacks, and no non-alcoholic beverages were available. When asking for tasters, you are directed to go to the fights line and buy a flight. Yes, there was a different line to stand and wait in for flights and full glass! Now you and your date need to wait in two different lines to get served, and then buy your tasters as a flight.
Again, good beers, but, no interest in ever returning to this brewery for any reason. A total Cape May vacation bust!
In hope management reads this review and can fix their process, I remain…....
Read moreI am writing this review as a fan of this companies beer as I live in Northern NJ and my local liquor store stocks a pretty good selection First of all the website paints a picture of happy and super cool employees who are really excited about their job and want to share their unique experiences with you. Besides the lovely greeter who met us at the front door the experience was complete trash. You have to follow lines painted on the floor to reach the destination you are looking for. We followed the blue line to the tasting room where thanks to the greeter we knew to fill out the beer card before proceeding to order our beers. The bartender and bar back working on 9/24 had zero personality and an "I hate my life vibe" ...Why weren't they the little happy campers described on the website? The tasting room is dimly lit and doesn't make you want to linger at all...in fact we didn't even finish our beers. Outside beer garden was full so we were lucky to find a table in the beer dungeon. The cotton candy beer has artificial flavor which gave my wife a headache to boot. I think the owner should do an "undercover boss" with a friend to see what their experience would be. Maybe it was an "off day" at the brewery but it was...
