Some of the best authentic ramen you'll ever find anywhere in the US!
This is a small, conveniently located restaurant in the Kobosko's plaza. The interior is very clean, well decorated, and very inviting. From the moment we walked in, the employees were very friendly and attentive.
The menu is traditional Japanese and Thai fare, with sushi, ramen, noodles, rice, and some others.
We started with spring rolls and gyoza (dumplings). Both were absolutely amazing. Some of the best gyoza I've ever had. The spring rolls were crispy, fresh, and piping hot. We also ordered hot tea and hot sake. The hot sake was hands down the best hot sake I've ever had. Amazing. The tea came in a very pretty teapot and with fancy teacups.
The Shoyu chicken ramen was absolutely incredible. The most authentic Japanese ramen I've ever had in the US. Brimming with flavor and texture. This ramen is truly something special. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and so were the noodles and veggies. The hot oil really set it off and made this a perfect ramen.
We also tried the Yaki Soba with chicken. Absolutely amazing. Tastes like the best Lo Mein you ever had. The food was truly so good that I didn't mind waiting at all. The price is average for the area and comes in at the same as other Thai and Japanese restaurants but obviously with much better food.
Please do yourselves a favor and give them a shot if you like great ramen. You'll keep coming...
Read moreWe've been wanting to try this place for quite some time now. Mochi Thai and Japanese is where New Thai used to be and this place was recommended by some friends and family.
We arrived for dinner at around 5.30pm and was greeted by the server right away!! This place is a small and feels very homie. The 2 servers (didn't quite catch their names as they didn't mention their names to us) were very nice and accommodating. We ordered 5-6 items off the menu, they were Edamame, Tako Yaki (Japanese Octopus balls), Spider Roll, Chicken Pad Thai, Tonkatsu Ramen and Rock & Roll Roll. All of the items came out and a timely manner (didn't have to wait too long, perfect timing actually)
All of the food items tasted good. Although for the Takoyaki they should've used regular kewpie Mayo instead of spicy Mayo and with out the salads in the bottom (more authentic), and the Pad Thai noodles were just a little bit over cooked but tasted great! ...
Read moreI just came back from Mochi Thai & Japanese Restaurant. We had an outstanding tasty meal. We are so thrilled to have such an awesome restaurant so close to us. I didn’t care for the predecessor restaurant, but his one is so good. We Tom Kha soup, Japanese dumplings, Ikura, Penang Curry and Nam Sod. They were all beautifully presented and so delicious. I like very spicy food and rarely get it. When they asked how many stars, 1-5, I said 6; and that was what I got. We will be coming here regularly in the future. It is our now favorite Thai restaurant.
Update: Went again on May 26. Another wonderful dinner. We had the Gyoza dumpling appetizer, massman curry and the night’s special Tuna Onzen. All...
