Had an absolute ball here while visiting the rents for Thanksgiving. We clearly came a little early, even for the soft opening, but Kathy and her staff treated my mom and I like a couple of princesses!
The outside and inside was so sleek. The exposed brick and their gorgeous tables, along with beautiful black and gold details/crown molding, chandeliers, and industrial touches around the cafe made for an aesthetically-pleasing dining experience.
They had Christian music playing overhead and the staff was so accommodating even though we didn't get the memo that they weren't yet open. 😆 In our defense, my family just recently relocated there and I'm from 4 hrs away.
Their beignets are phenomenal. They come three in a basket, but they're huge, flaky, doughy, and just perfectly sweetened. I've tried them at several much more expensive establishments all over the Birmingham metro area and I'd easily rank them up there with the best back home.
While we were crashing on their couch before the store was even technically open for business, they were kind enough to ask us to be guinea pigs for their affogatos. Let me tell you....Their espresso is extraordinary. That thing packed a punch and was so unbelievably creamy mixed with the ice cream. Oh! And it came with yet another beignet so I ate my weight in em that day! 🤣
