I just started coming to this restaurant a month ago. I’ve order crawfish a few times. It’s always on Monday and the order always comes out the same. Today, I was wanting to share with a work buddy so my wife went ahead and placed the order same exact way she always does but this time she added more corn and more potatoes. And instead of getting 2 boxes like usual. She was given 1 box with what was apparently 2 lbs. looked exactly like my usual 1lb box. There was only 2 potatoes and 2 corns. Which blew my mind since I usually get anywhere from 4 corn and a ton of potatoes. I felt so awkward because it was honestly just a portion for me and here I am already telling buddy here I got him some. So we shared and I called the store to clarify and I asked the lady how many came with each order. She said 1 corn/ 2 potatoes per order. And when I voiced my concern she said each ORDER gets 1 corn/ 2 potatoes. So if I ordered 1lb or 5lbs it didn’t matter. Which I think is ridiculous. Like i have to call place an order, hang up and call for another one? Anyways. I say “oh okay thank you” and I let it go. I never make big deal out of any of these situations. But i told my wife and we got to thinking. If it comes with 1 and I ordered more it should’ve at least came with more than 2. So here I am calling back again. This time I asked for a manager since i figured maybe the employee messed up and forgot to give me the rest of my food, whatever but I at least wanted my food another day. It’s not fair to charge that much for so little. To my surprise, Ms Jess the manager was incredibly rude. She answered very nicely but as soon as I voiced my concern she said the following. I’m gonna do my best to say everything exactly the same she did. “Yea so today crawfish is on special when you dine one (I paid full price for take out btw) and everyone wants a little extra potatoe here and some corn there but we just can’t give extra to everyone. And btw since our back room stays busy all day we usually don’t even let people order crawfish for carry out but I went ahead and did the favor to personally approve this order just today so that you could eat it at home” that part is verbatim. I like fr Jess? She proceeds to say “it was probably ordered wrong online so to avoid any errors in the future just call in and we’ll get that for you the right way.” AGAIN. My wife ordered it like always. So I ask. “Okay so call in next time? - yes- okay so how does that work if today you felt like personally approving my order but next Monday you don’t?” And she started stumbling and saying I can call other days but no more on Monday because they don’t ever do take out for craw fish on Monday…. But ma’am. I Have the last few weeks. She said unfortunately not any more? I was upset tbh. So I said, cool. How do we go about my missing food. She said “I can have a box with a corn and 2 potatoes ready for you to pick up. Or I can refund you the money. I took the refund. And when you think it can’t get worse she says okay plz hold. And I guess she didn’t mute the phone? She proceeded to talk to some customers and said I’ll be right with you I just have to deal with this angry customer first. Sorry he’s not too happy and the rest I didn’t hear but they were laughing. It was honestly so annoying and upsetting. I ended up frustrated at the situation and Jess. Idk if you guys have recordings of the calls but if you check you can see I’m not lying. I’ll be taking my little business elsewhere. Yea I know $20 sum bucks don’t matter but still such a shame I really liked y’all’s food but Jess left a...

Visiting from out of town. Stopped here on a recommendation. Went on a Friday for a late lunch and was sat immediately. Overall, it was good and would eat here again if ever in the area.

Location: off the road. Plenty of parking. Easy to get to. Gps took us there.

Atmosphere: spacious. Table and booth available. I felt like I had privacy/not right up on other guests. Comfortable, casual. Good smells of crawfish outside.

Service: overall friendly. Able to make recommendations and describe menu items. A little absent with checking in and refills. Always started walking away before we could ask/answer questions.

Food: plenty of options- steak, salads, pasta, fish, shrimp, pork, poboys, burgers, chicken sandwich, boils, oysters, pizza. Appetizers include alligator, queso, mushrooms, shrimp, hushpuppies, etc.

What we ordered: we tried the blackened alligator appetizer. It was really good. Enough to share between 2 people. I ordered the seafood lasagna (seafood palermo) and it was hot, cheeses and tastes really good. The asparagus that came with it was not trimmed and was a little tough. My husband ordered the pork chop ribeye with fries and mashed potatoes. His mashed came wrong as he requested no onion but it was in there. Everything tasted good and freshly made.

Price: about what you'd expect, a little higher than your average restaurant . Appetizers range $6-14. Pastas $16-20. Burgers $11-16. Pizza $16. Seafood $15-30. Oysters $11-20 (depending on size of order). Not sure about boiled items, would have to ask the servers.

Overall, the food had great flavor. We enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was clean and the personnel was friendly. I would...

9/18/2021 UPDATE - 2nd visit, we had ribeye with sides: bacon wrapped asparagus and baked potato with add-on shrimp lagniappe and a bowl of Crawfish Étouffée.

Steak was seasoned well but slightly undercooked, asked for medium, potato was warmish, shrimp was overcooked and dryish, and underwhelmed by bacon wrapped asparagus. Étouffée was not as good as 1st visit and rice was still a little hard. Bread pudding still excellent.

Removed a star, now 3 stars. So hungry and the food was so good that we forgot to take pictures until we got to the desserts, Beignets and Bread Pudding. Both were excellent by the way but my favorite was the latter.

Get the Crawfish Étouffée! It’s the best dipping sauce. Steamed rice was a little hard.

Had the Pelican Platter: fish, oyster, shrimp, fried, and gator tail, and a cup of gumbo. The Platter can be grilled or fried or customized, just ask! My favorite items on the platter were the fried shrimp, fried oysters, and grilled fish (after I added the Crawfish Étouffée over the fish). I didn’t enjoy the gumbo though. It was super dark, on the edge of burnt or it was the sausage meat combination that was not appealing to my taste buds.

Waitress was very attentive and had a great personality. Even offered to wheelbarrow us out of there before we ordered dessert. 🤣

A little pricey but worth it especially for a date night.

The restaurant is a great addition to Lufkin!

We started eating here when The Point first opened. Then, the food was amazing!! I’m a Louisiana girl myself and I rated it right there with some of the best cuisine from my southern roots. However, recently, the last two time we have been, the food has been terrible! Ruined oysters (dark and smelly), the pork chops ribeye was like jerky. So over cooked, it was in un-edible. (Was always my favorite) The balsamic salad dressing was straight up Balsamic vinegar, no oil at all. Breath taking to say the least. Last night, the blackened Ted snapper tasted amazing, however, again over cooked. The BB shrimp were in a greasy pool of Tabasco sauce. Again, over cooked and extremely difficult to peel. Not to Mention the burnt (black) French bread served with it. But, the worst part to me was my grilled veggies. They weren’t grilled veggies AT ALL. They were minced stems!! Like tough hay! I was told the vendor sent the wrong item. Well…. Take it off the menu until you get the correct item. Bread is cheap… you should never serve BLACK bread. Make sure the chef knows that food continues to cook even after it’s off the heat, especially fish. I’m so sad because this was a great place. Not sure what has happened. Maybe the owners aren’t as involved or too busy with other locations. I hope We don’t see an empty building there soon! Not bashing… just want to give feedback for improvements. Service is always GREAT!
