As of writing this, Main Street Café is still a new spot in town. Several locals have praised the food, so I decided to dine in after trying several dishes after a short drive home via their drive-through.
Though dine-in is an option, the lack of seating and tables indicates they'd prefer people stick to the drive-through or to-go ordering. While there's nothing inherently wrong with that, it isn't a very inviting place to sit down and eat. 3 stars.
The service is sufficient for the limited dining area. I'm not expecting a full fine dining experience, but the server/host/cashier ensured everyone was tended to and satisfied! 4 stars.
I have had the smash burger and chicken fried steak sandwich, both absolutely critical for southern-style American food. While the burger is far from "groundbreaking" and much thicker than what I know of as a "smash" burger, it is cooked through and seasoned well, and the french fries were crisp without being overcooked. The chicken fried steak was slightly saltier than I prefer, but better too much than not enough in my opinion. The breading was crispy and the steak was sufficiently tenderized. 4 stars, not amazing, but good for the cost.
Overall: 3.667 stars, rounded up to 4. Not amazing, far from bad. Great to pick up on the way home when you don't feel like cooking after a long...
Read more(I write this review skeptically as i see in previous reviews the owners get tacky and personal on any negative reviews!) But here it goes! Saw a tik tok review of this today so decided to try their lunch. The owner bragged about their burgers. I'm a sucker for a really good burger. I ordered the onion rings to go with it (didn't know it came with fries, the person taking the order on the phone wasn't rude, but wasn't helpful and pleasant either) for s burger and small onion rings, it was $21!!!! No drink either! (Very pricey) The onion rings are fantastic!!! Highly recommend!! (I normally don't eat onions at all but when I find a good fried one, it's on! ) I was disappointed in the burger. Really disappointed. This is SETX. Most of the bloodlines around here have cajun and creole history and FLAVOR with spices and seasonings is a MUST! THE Burger had absolutely no flavor (and I added bacon) i did ask for salt at the drive thru (thank goodness or i wouldn't have eaten more than a bite) I really wanted this to be a great burger. So far, hands down, Hamburger Depot has the best burger in SETX right now and I was hoping for something comparable. Not dissing this place, i hope they are successful. Their breakfast pizzas are fabulous! But I won't be ordering the...
Read moreI ordered for pickup. The girl answering the phone obviously didn't know the menu or couldn't hear. I had to repeat everything two to three times. I ordered two smash burgers and was told they only come with pickles. I said no, they one with everything. She says no they don't. I also ordered the cheese steak sandwich. When I drove up, the drive thru is completely blocked by parked cars. There's no place to park except next door. When I get inside I asked why I'm being charged for all the veggies and she said because they don't come with that. I explained that the online menu clearly states it comes with all the veggies. Then she proceeds to tell me it comes with two patties .Again nowhere on the menu is that stated. Then tells me my order will have to be remade because the one she charged me for is a 1/2 lb patty. Doesn't two 1/4 make half? When I asked about the drive thru being blocked, she stated it wasn't her car. I order from here frequently and have never had it taken 45 minutes to receive an order. And then the fries were cold. Also don't expect thinly sliced onions. They were huge chunks and there were about 10...
