Update: We have discontinued our trips to the Trail Inn. The food was phenomenal, but now I would say that it is mediocre at best. There are new cooks. Since then, the food is far feom the same. My husband had his usual of the haddock and mac n cheese. The fish was overcooked and dry. The mac n cheese was not as creamy nor did it have the flavor that it used to. I got chicken breast, baked potatoe, and broccoli. The chicken was overcooked and incredibly salty. The broccoli was ok, not as much seasoning as it used to have, and the baked potato was ok. The service is still great, but that doesn't make up for mediocre food. Typical bar environment with phenomenal food! We have been here a couple of times. We have had the tuna melt, build a burger, mediterranean chicken sandwhich, and steak...nothing disappoints! Match that with friendly wait staff and clean facilities. I'm glad that we live about a half hour away so that I'm not there every night!
Note: The Trail Inn has turned into an every other Friday night out with our boys. They love (and so do we) going out for supper and playing pool with them. We go around 530 and are there until 10ish. The boys get black and gold steaks, and hubby gets beer batter haddock. We are still loving the food, the service is great, and we love the environment. We usually spend anywhere from $90 - $100 for the 4 of us, but that...
Read moreMy rating is based on my cumulative experiences over the past few years. Unfortunately, my latest experience was not very good, otherwise I would give more stars. To this end, my partner and I don't eat out/order out all too often, but when we do, it's usually for Buffalo/chicken wings. Historically, they have been pretty good from Trail, but this time, they were pretty poor...on wing night no less! Just a wild guess based on the bitter/charred flavor coming through is that the fryer oil needed changing or was too hot. Also, the sauces (hot garlic and hot honey) were very weak, with no good flavors from the Buffalo hot sauce or honey able to cut through the off flavor of the wings. In fact, the minced garlic tasted very bitter and not savory at all, maybe not properly stored or just a poor source. The ranch fries were undercooked but pretty darn tasty with all the fixings (bacon!), but to pay almost $15 for an average plate of fries and some mostly inexpensive toppings makes it hard to swallow. We paid a total of $41 for 2 dz. of the crappy wings and the tasty fries, also not easy to accept. To top it all off, we were not informed about it being wing night when we called in for takeout, so we spent a fair amount more than we would have, had the worker simply mentioned that when we spoke. I would have rather spent the money on a couple...
Read moreI been here twice before while they were under going changes which left a sour taste in my mouth. Now after tonight it wasn't really that bad as my first 2 visits.
-The establishment is nice and has a mild old west theme to it. Music varies that plays from country, rock, pop, hip hop, oldies. (Played one of my favorite songs bartender by Rehab) -They have a good amount space for seating. Currently as of this review their outdoors seating is unavailable due to cold I'd assume? (They didn't have it setup so thats my guess.) -Sevice was actually better then expected was more then pleased with how well our servers checked on us. -The food came out faster then expected as well and was good. They do offer a variety of food so don't worry about them just serving your typical bar and grill stuff. -They do have a bar you can sit and talk with people and have a few drinks. (Please drink responsibly!) -Not bad place for a date, dinner stop or a quick lunch if your near by. -Compared to most places I seen as long as your not going on a high end with a steak dinner I believe the prices are ok for the meals.
Overall it's a nice little resteraunt that you can come throw a few back, catch a good filling meal. Bring buddies, family ect and just enjoy a relaxed...
