4 stars for food, 0 stars for service, hence the 2 stars. Seems like everyone has an attitude Everytime we visit. Yes I go back for the great steak tacos, burritos, tortas, etc, but the service is always God awful. I ordered chicken enchiladas with cheese and the cashier told me that this wasn't possible. I was mystified. Will the cheese and chicken inside the tortilla spontaneously combust? I didn't understand so I asked for an explanation as to why. She said that it wasn't on the menu and that if she had it done for me then everyone else would want it that way!
What!!!!!!! I stood there in a daze. I again asked what and who and where and how could you even say such a thing. This is a restaurant. I'm asking for cheese on chicken. Not organic farm raised hand fed chicken with pepper jack cheese brought in from Romania! I normally let minimal, non-life changing things like this just fly by but I felt that this was a battle that could not be lost! I wanted cheese on the chicken inside the tortilla damnit! I calmy called my beautiful wife over and just wanted to make sure I wasn't asking for world Peace or something ridiculous. She looked as dazed as I did when I explained to her what was going on. She asked for the manager and the cashier apologized and said that this was restaurant policy enforced by none other than him. She gave an example where she did the same as for another customer and was reprimanded. She was reprimanded for giving a customer cheese! I told her that the guy was an IDIOT and I'd love to know when he arrived to work so I can tell him to his face for her. She turned to the cook, spoke to him in Spanish and asked if he thought he could cross the boundaries of Zacatacos food sacrilege and put cheese on my chicken taco and he smiled at me and said no problem! He let off a slight smirk and shook his head at her when she turned around and I paid extra for my cheese as I had always requested and went about my daily routine knowing that I had one a battle but lost 5 minutes of my life to wanting cheese...
Read moreUpdate: 10/23/2022. I stand on my review, prices are obnoxious, plus they now charge extra to have your meat “well cooked”. This place has gotten worried about being too greedy rather than quality. Unflavored meat for sure, we used to come from Indiana because of the great tacos and food they used to serve, but definitely not worth it anymore. They have lost us as customers at least for Bridgeview location. 🤦🏻♀️ This used to be my family’s favorite taco place, but this last Sunday 8/18/19 we went in and it was not the same. A few things to point out that I think have gotten out of hand. The prices keep going higher every time we go in, food is starting to get overpriced. Seems that the girls that take your order and prep are too busy chit chatting and rather ignorant with customers, the waitress was really nice, but lacked attention to customers. They take orders from tables, they bring food but never come back to check on tables. But the most disappointing thing was that the meat did not look or taste the same, seemed that this meat was steamed rather than grilled as they used to (this was the main reason we visited this place often because the quality of the meat used to be great) definitely not this time. If I pay $15+ for 3 tacos and a drink per person, I expect to get quality food for this price. I don’t know if they changed the type of meat they use for their tacos, but whatever we were served on Sunday seemed poor quality steamed meat. It was a disappointing visit considering we usually get good service, and we’re used to great food at this place. We will probably give it another chance, hopefully it was just a bad day for them and it’ll be better next time we...
Read moreOn 9/16/2022 at 8:50PM my husband called to place an order on the phone. The lady that took our order never once mentioned that this location closed at 9PM. We assumed it closed at 10PM because that's what google has down for your place of business. She said the order would be ready in 15- 20 minutes. I arrived at your location drive thru window at 9:03P. The guy at the window very rudely mouthed closed. I tried to speak as loudly as I could that I was picking up an order and he just shook his head and ignored me. My husband called the location, in which said guy did answer and my husband explained the situation. He said it was our fault for not asking and verifying what time it closed, and then he proceeded to say that our order was there and made, but my husband let him know we were not going to go pick it up because we had already made the drive there once, and he hung up on him. It was a $80+ order, which is a loss for me because we didn't get our dinner, and it's an even larger loss for your place of business. If this man, who refused to give his name, is one of your managers running your restaurant he is doing it very poorly and causing you to lose money. This isn't the first time this restaurant has given us very poor customer service, but it is the last because we will no longer be giving our money to this establishment. As someone that runs a business for a large corporation, I would retrain or perhaps replace your entire staff in...
