Tonight my husband and I had dinner at Positano Pizza Napoletana on Floyd Road in Mableton. We purposely chose a weeknight due to reports of long waits on the weekend. I absolutely recommend this restaurant and hope the city will support it. Many who are used to ordering something called pizza from Dominos or Papa John's might think that the prices are on the high side, but for the quality of the food Positano's serves, I feel the price is appropriate. We ordered a Margherita for $24 and Positano Salad for $16. We almost immediately agreed this Pizza is as good as if not better than Antico Pizza Napoletana in Atlanta - which says a lot. And it is a lot closer. Now this is not New Jersey or New York old style Pizza, it is pizza like in Napoli (Naples) Italy. My husband and I are originally from New York & New Jersey where we have consumed more than the normal amount of pizza and travel to visit his cousins in Italy almost every year, trying the pizza in every city we visit. Positino's manager Pete told us the pizza is so good because they import their ingredients, including the flour, from Napoli. That the authentic pizza ovens were made in Napoli and a well known Pizza chef came from there to teach the chefs here to make the pizza the way it is made in Italy. As a bonus the salad was also very delicious. We now have a favorite local spot to enjoy. Like at Antico, the Pizza's and other food items are ordered at the front cashier. And drinks at the bar. You seat yourself and pickup plates and silverware at the counter. With the self service setup I was reluctant to tip at the beginning, so I didn't add to my check. But when we left we put a healthy tip in the jar. The staff were all polite and attentive, the tables and dining room are were extremely clean, the food was served pretty quickly and at the correct temperature - so I felt they deserved the tip (which I hope is shared with all.) Oh, did I mention the Gelato. It...
Read moreDelicious, fresh and hot! Love seeing the cook staff roll out dough and bake fresh in the stone pizza ovens right in front of us. The bar is fully stocked with herbs for all of your favorite drinks - fresh hibiscus, mint, cherries, olives, lemons, limes, and more. Impeccably clean, and the entire staff- from The women cleaning the tables and chairs outside on the patio deck, to the women at the customer service stations (cashier and gelato) as soon as you enter the door, to the bar staff, and shop manager. Greeted by all, offered tastes of from gelato and wine. There's a cooler with all kinds of choices of bottled waters and juices including Pellegrino, sparkling juice and water. The pizza choices, calzone choices, antipasto, salad come up cheese bread, and pizza add-ons- are so plentiful! So plentiful! There's something for everyone, including gluten-free pizza in size 12 in! I am so excited and happy and enthralled that this pizza joint is finally open, that it's local, and it's walking distance from my house. Nothing could make the mother of a 15-year-old pizza addict happier! Thank you for your service, and for joining our beautiful Mableton...
Read moreWe have had wonderful experiences here and are absolutely thrilled to have a place like this in our neighborhood! Some of the best pizza around and delicious drinks. I can't recommend the Capricciosa pizza enough.
There are a few areas of improvement that I hope the owners will hear me out on!
(1) Dim the lighting and bring the music down just a touch on the inside. The inside and outside feel like two totally different restaurants, and folks flock to the outdoor seating. Gotta make the inside more cozy!
(2) Better dispersion and proportion of toppings would be wonderful. We love Calzones but gave up on them here quickly, because they're made just like the pizzas, just folded on themselves. (Hint: a pizza folded on itself does not have nearly enough cheese and toppings to constitute a calzone!) We've also had pizzas that look like someone threw the toppings onto it from the 2nd story of a building and said, "Oh well!"
(3) I have a looming fear that Positano is a little too expensive for the area. We're happy to pay the premium for awesome pizza every few weeks but hope they'll consider lowering prices or running specials for...
