I love FIsh-N-Pig. I will continue to frequent this establishment probably for the remainder of its duration. Before I leave this review I would like to add that I am a double major in business management and financial economics so I understand a little bit about what's going on between supply and demand and prices and revenue etc. I have been frequenting this establishment for years as well, so I do have the ability to compare past experience with present experiences. I order the same exact thing every time I come here. It NEVER changes (gator). I always order gator bites appetizer and gator bites dinner. When I use to order gator bites (prior to the past 18 months) I felt as if I was getting a better value than I am now specifically referring to the appetizer. Over the past 18 mo the gator bites appetizer has gotten tremendously smaller in portion size. We have got to establish a better way of becoming more consistent with the portion sizes. Even if that means purchasing a scale and determining the cost per pound to produce the end product of gator bites vs what we are willing to sell them for after we make them (production cost schedule).. It seems as if F-N-P is currently displaying inflation (prices going up) as well as shrinkflation (decreasing portion sizes). I noticed that the gator appetizer has gone up 2.00 and I ordered anyways because I am a regular and I love this place. The past few times I have gotten the appetizer it has been like 6-8 pieces of gator. This translates to like 1.75-2.00 per piece of gator bite.. Please notice the 4 star review as I previously stated I love this place and I will continue coming here, but please accept this as a piece of valuable consumer advice that can add value to your business. If I am thinking this after several experiences I am not...
Read moreI use to work at this horrible place and now i wish to tell my experience for the world to see. First the restaurant claims to have grouper sandwiches and tacos but they do not have any of it, what ya'll are actually eating is Pegasus catfish that sits in a bus tub full of water until it expands big enough to serve, so people will not know the difference. The scallops and the fish for the "grouper tacos" sit in the bus tub underneath the sink in the dish pit, yes that is disgusting. The low country boil has bad corn all the time, they put it into the low country boil to try and cover up the taste, and it will even spoil the shrimp on occasion. The crab legs are frost bitten and many times smell like ammonia and they still sell them to customers, i know because they also try to push them onto their staff members. The peel and eat shrimp are usually rotten because they do not keep them cold, they sit in the kitchen and not on ice, so you might get sick if you eat it cold. I have seen the OWNERS pick food off of the kitchen floor and serve it. I am only telling this because i believe people should know, i am not just mad and trying to get back at this restaurant, i am just doing my duty as a worker in the food industry to let people know what type of businesses are out there. Please eat at...
Read moreWe tried this place for the first time. It was good. We got the cheese sticks for an appetizer and being $10 I figured it would come with more than 5 cheese sticks. I got the catfish fillets with fries and okra they were both good. It came with 4 fillets and the fries were crinkle fries and the okra could have been cooked a little bit longer in my opinion. It also came with 2 hush puppies that were very good. My daughter got the catfish fillets also with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac n cheese and it was very good. My other daughter got the pulled pork sandwich and she loved it and my husband got the tilapia with shrimp combo with a loaded baked potato and squash casserole. Everything was delicious. It's decorated with lots of fun signs and there was a band playing. The waitress was very nice and did a decent job of keeping the drinks filled and bringing us anything we needed. All the food was hot and fresh. I would definitely eat here again. There's so many different...
