We used Koch's for our rehearsal dinner, wedding day lunch, and wedding cake for our wedding this past weekend. There were some good things, and quite a few disappointments. First, our rehearsal dinner taco bar was little more than a grocery delivery. Great Value tortillas still in the original packaging, shredded cheese, a tub of sour cream, and some shredded chicken and ground beef. No plates, utensils, napkins, or serving utensils were provided. They threw the groceries on the table and left. For the price, we could have done this ourselves cheaper and better. Next, my lunch delivery. They delivered early (great!) but put the boxes in the fridge and no one knew they were there. I had anticipated them setting them out on a table, as it was a catered lunch for the wedding party. Lastly, my cake. We had a 4 tier cake and 2 sheet cakes. They tasted so good! We got so many compliments on the cake. However, when it was delivered, it was a hot mess with literal holes in it and it was falling over. They did manage to fix it, but it was still a little crooked. Overall, my opinion is that Koch's is growing too fast for their own good. What started out as a small deli and bakery has now added all of these other features to their business, and I feel they can't keep up. I was happy with the cake, but disappointed with the rest. Confusion on payments, etc. increased my frustration, as I felt they weren't keeping good records. If I ever need a simple cake order, I'd consider using them again. Otherwise, I'd choose...
Read moreHad this been my first visit to Koch's, it would been a poor first impression. However, since I'd been there before, I know they can do better. They simply chose not to on this particular evening.
Went in on Friday evening after Christmas to get some cold cuts and cheeses for our family's holiday weekend snacks and meals. There were only two meats and few cheeses in the case available for slicing. My mistake was in not leaving after they refused to open more. Curious, I asked if they were going to be open the next day. The clerk said yes, but they were going to be closed the days before New Years, therefore, they couldn't open anything new. It was an unfriendly customer encounter.
There was another stumbling block during that visit. They are open until 7:00 and I arrived around 6:15. It was hard to tell they were open by the store's lighting. That probably should have been the hint needed not to continue. Only about half of the lights were on inside the store giving me the uncomfortable feeling of shopping in the shadows.
Koch's do too much business not to do it right most of the time. This particular time they...
Read morebought a xylophone for my baby but is completely out of tune. It is so off that you cannot even play the music sheet itself included in the box. You cannot recognize the song at all, because it is so off. When I asked for refund, the people there said that it is not defective, it’s not meant to be professional. But it has already been beyond the degree of being professional or not. It is a matter of being a musical instrumental or just something that can make noise. She kept repeating herself that the xylophone is not defective. I asked her to try play a song, she did and, man, I cannot imaging she play anything with that to her son.
Their attitude is awful. Even if it is perfectly fine, can’t I return it just because it does not serve my expectation? Plus, the xylophone is in perfect shape, just opened.
In sum, it’s a place where food is okay, things look neat, but you will not be allowed to have any opinion with their...
