UPDATE: The manager called me and offered free ice cream for 8 of our church kids that we take here often, which I took her up on. Have been back plenty of time since the below incident and everything went as expected and employees more than willing to help with orders in a very timely manner. Therefore, the rating would be 5 STARS as this manager really does care how her employee interact with the public. GREAT JOB IN DEALING WITH ISSUES! Highly recommend this place of business now!
WOULD GIVE A '0' BUT OPTION NOT AVAILABLE! I, my husband and great grandson (who wanted to eat there) went into the McDonald's at 4472 Ocmulgee E Blvd, Macon, GA 31217 around 6:00 pm this past Friday, July 20th. We entered and waited by the cash register for about 2 minutes for one of the eight (8) employees standing nearby to come to the register. All standing between the drive-thru window and the metal food serving table, just talking. We thought at first that maybe something big must have happened for everyone to be there. But with time and the talking and then laughter figured not. So then I stated loud enough for all of them to hear me, "We would like to place our order please." All just looked over at me and continued with their talking. One of them, a lady with a sweater on, as the place was really cold, passed us as she headed outside while looking at her cell phone. I commented, "It sure is cold in here." only to be ignored as she continued outside. Another of the workers walked by us and went to the ladies bathroom. By then my husband has had enough and yelled out, "Is anyone going to wait on us, if not we take our business somewhere else?" The other six (6) workers all looked over at us but not one of them said a word. Therefore we simply turned around and left, going across the street to Dairy Queen. This is definitely NOT how this establishment is run during the day! I've been here plenty of times with our church kids, and others, and have always had great counter people. But I do know I do not want to go back in the late evening ever again! Doubt very much if there was a supervisor around. If there was one then the owner, or corporate, should consider giving them more training or letting them go before their incompetence hurts their...

10/29/2024 @ 5:30 p.m. I took the kido's to McDonald's located at 4472 Ocmulgee Blvd in Macon, Ga for dinner this evening. I placed the food order at the Kiosk and then patently waited for the food to be prepared. A lady in a Pink Polo McDonald's logoed shirt walks in the front door of the building with a small brown paper bag in her hands and past me standing at the counter while I wait to receive my food order and passes out food to the employees on the food line making orders and they, including her eat the food with bare hands while preparing orders with out washing hands. Lady in Pink shirt is expediting orders while eating food and touching her mouth with bare hands, even turns around and looks me dead in the eyes with her fingers in her mouth, then turns back around and proceeds to keep stuffing bags. She hands me my order and I ask for a remake since it was mishandled. She leaves half of it on the counter and has them remake the other half. Another lady gives me the remade portion 5 minuets later and I ask that lady if they are going to remake the rest of the order as well and the 2 ladies start cussing me so I asked for a refund. No one has on name tags or position markers so don't know names to give. Lady in Grey shirt refuses to refund the whole order originally since half had been remade. Lady in pink shirt tells another worker that she wasn't going to remake the kids meals since, "It is just going to be fed to kids anyhow." And then tells the others that she is leaving since, "This is not her store and she is not going to get in trouble." and tells the other lady in the grey shirt to give me a full refund to make me happy, and walks out the store.
I understand that this is 2024 and almost 2025, but seriously? The lady is wearing a logoed Polo shirt so I am guessing she is some form of a manager for the company. If that is the case I am also going to go out on a limb here and guess that she also had to take some form of training in food safety and handling at some point in time to be a manager.

Read moreMost of the time it's an excessive wait. But understandable considering the area. But having to pull up and wait for the simplest of things like 2 cheeseburgers and fry is ridiculous. They forget to give you the condiments you ask for most of the time. The sandwiches are just slopped together the majority of the time. Like they threw it around before handing it to you. Most of the time you don't even get napkins and you often have to request a straw. I guess if all you buy is fries or coffee you might have an okay consistent experience. Btw I met the owners. When they use to come in just about every day, the service was much better. As the saying goes, when the cats are away the mice will play.
Update: supposedly under new management now. The store frequently closes or is going through the closing procedures more than 45 minutes before what's listed on the door or even the app. Orders placed on the app often are unavailable upon arrival. Just last night made an order on the app at 10:10 pm after a long day at work. Arrive at the location and was told at the drive-thru they are closed. It was 10:14 pm. I advised the person I submitted and paid for my order via the app. The person just sat there and didn't say anything. So I had to pull up to the window only to be told yea, we are preparing your order. The average person would have driven off and lost money not knowing any better. So even under new management, this location still has the same poor service and questionable integrity...
