Called to make a reservation, but was told we didn't need it. The bar was packed, and happy hour specials are only good in the bar. After a drink in the bar, we took our table and placed an order for Bauernschmaus (German Sampler for Two). It comes on two platters as there is so much food it would never fit on one. The schnitzel was a good, but the breading seemed to be missing some seasoning. A quick squeeze of the lemon, and away we go. The sausages were as expected. Very tasty. The sourkraut and red cabbage added to the meal in a great way. Finally, the pork chop with applesauce rounded out the plate with flavors that teased the tongue. As if we didn't have enough food already, we ordered the struedel and creme brulee for dessert. Delicious. Knowing now how much food this is, I would suggest this exact meal would be perfect for 3 people, not just 2.

Be careful! This restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity. This was NOT mentioned when ordering and was NOT on the menu (it only states that gratuity applies for parties of 7 or more, which we were not). When you sign the check, they prompt you to add a tip again, trying to squeeze an extra 20% from their guests. They also added a credit card surcharge, again without informing us beforehand. I felt scammed. I believe this not legal - I’ll consider reporting this to the California Attorney General. After realizing this, we went back to the restaurant and asked for the gratuity to be removed, which they did. The dining room is cozy, and the food was okay. The sides were good, the Apfelstrudel was great, but the schnitzel was very dry and nothing like the schnitzel you get in Germany or Austria.

I’m so happy my husband booked this place for my birthday this year! The service here is the best I would say. She’s so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The foods are nice, we enjoyed everything! Especially the elk steak, I really love how it cooks, the sauce is amazing. Also thank you so much for the birthday cake, it’s an apple strudel, so delicious! I will recommend this restaurant for sure!

Got the feeling that our business wasn't wanted, so we left. Had a dinner reservation, but more than 30 minutes of almost zero attention and not being able to make even a drink order left us pretty disenchanted.

Myself and a few others arrived a few minutes early for a 7pm reservation and checked in with the hostess. There were a few other parties there waiting, some of which looked like they had been there a long time already. It was obvious the staff was very busy, so we waited patiently for our table to be ready. Understandable given COVID staffing shortages. 15 minutes later, we were still standing there, so I checked with an employee - we were seated a few minutes after that, but the feeling I got was that they had forgotten about us. We were given waters and some bread. I asked if we could order some drinks - the staff member let us know she wasn't our server, but that our server would be by soon. 15 minutes later, still no server, still no drinks. We finished the bread and left without anyone noticing. One of our party realized he left his wallet there, so we returned 10 minutes later, table was exactly as we had left it. Was looking forward to good food and atmosphere, but ended up with a pretty disappointing experience. Really hope things turn...

Got the jaegerschniztel. It wasn’t bad, just not what I expected from a schnitzel. Schnitzels are breaded and fired cutlets, this was not breaded. Usually the sauce is a thick mushroom gravy, this was very thin, watery mushroom sauce. The pork was tender and cooked just right and it did taste good. We ordered the fired pork belly for an appetizer and it was delicious. Two in my party got the lobster ravioli and each said they got some shell in their ravioli filling. Another got the filet mignon and said it was very good. Service, on the other hand was not very good. Waited quite a while to get our order in. I didn’t receive a refill on my ice tea until 10 minutes after I finished it. When we were done, we had to wait about 15 minutes before they cleared out dishes and asked about dessert. At that point, we just wanted to leave. Waited another 5-7 minutes to get the doggy bags, another 5-7 minutes before the check came. Finally, the menu as a whole has a limited selection of German food. I probably won’t return, but I also would not dissuade someone from...
