Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Manalapan Township

I absolutely love Rita's custard. The cheesecake flavor and the cake batter flavor are 5 stars! I normally would have rated this location the previous years 5 stars, but this summer they barely had any selection. Today, they only had vanilla and chocolate custard flavors. I love chocolate, but Rita's doesn't make a great chocolate custard. The last time I came they had the cake batter flavor, but only 3 choices. Last year and previous years they had at least 4 custard flavors to choose from. That's why I didn't visit this location much this summer. They only had one cream ice on their menu too this summer. My favorite cream ices by Rita’s is marshmallow peanut butter and fudge brownie. Both flavors they didn’t carry at this location all summer which was very disappointing! Awesome stop on Route 9 for ices and ice cream. Good service and ready parking. Friendly staff, and the ices and custards and ice cream is really good! Fun toppings and reasonable prices. That also do pints/buckets to bring bask to the house with you. Outdoor picnic tables for when you meet your neighbors here unexpectedly or don't want the mess in your car. No restroom, all treats from the takeout window. A really great seasonal summer treat. (Lots of sugar, options for those who avoid dairy,,closed during during late Autumn and through the winter. Today was National Italian Ice day and on May 3rd I went to Rita’s, ready to get my free ice with a purchase of a small custard. However when I arrived I ordered and after they brought me my order, none of the staff recognized the coupon or the email that I got from Rita’s. Even after bringing in the manager, who also had no ideas about the promotion, I was forced to pay in full even though it was a Rita’s national promotion.
