Second time visiting this establishment. Honestly, the first visit exceeded expectations. The food was good (bit pricey), service attentive, and simple food alterations request were granted ( extra crispy home potatoes). Alas, today was an epic fail. I ordered the Cajun Benedict and aside from the Crawfish sausage, it was a travesty of the pallet. Again, I requested my home potatoes extra crispy. I actually requested them burned to ensure they are cooked to my liking. The came out barely cooked and almost warm. Next, they rationed the Hollandaise sauce. It was so pitiful that my over poached eggs were basically naked. There wasn't even enough sauce for the English muffin. Next, I'm not sure why they included the thin slice of tasteless tomato, honestly did nothing for flavor or presentation. I know I may seem a bit critical, but cooking, eating, and presenting food are my life. I know how I prepare my food and all chefs are critics. The final travesty was the Hollandaise sauce itself. I knew when I saw it, it was made with a non-dairy butter substitute. It was thin, extremely light in color, and laced with oil. One taste and my mouth was washed in a tasteless oil. When I experience something so off like the Hollandaise sauce, I ask for a second opinion (I spend 4-5 hours cooking a day and feel second opinions help remove any bias). Second opinion confirmed that the dish was an epic fail and not remotely close in quality or flavor for the price.

Wait staff was okay. Definitely not attentive, it almost appeared that they were walking around dazed and confused.

Since I believe in the rule of 3, I will venture out to Mande's one more time to see if this experience was...

Hmm.. where to begin about Mande's. mandy’s has been in that location for a very long time which is fine, but you can tell when you walk in and the interior decoration probably hasn’t changed since 1983. you know and the 70s and the 80s beginning like when woodwork was really in and the heavily shellac wood surfaces were in, which is fine but I don’t think it’s been updated since that time so it looks old and used and kind of dirty needless to say when you’re sit at the bar, you’re looking just directly at a slot in the wall and a micro kitchen, which is fine but the coffee set up everything just looks like it hasn’t been updated since that time so it doesn’t come off as being to let’s say clean. there’s no guessing who the owners are because they look like they came directly from that time as well no smiles no greeting. When I asked the waitress for a receipt. She rolled her eyes at me and huffed and puffed, and the owner lady was like what’s the problem she’s like I heard her say God she wants a receipt. Nobody wants a receipt very snotty very snotty. And she practically blew her top when I asked for a sticker for a drink that I was bringing for somebody which is pretty standard nowadays since people feel more comfortable and I know you haven’t stuck a strong or drink to take a sip. Another Huffin puff session and I kindly said excuse me excuse me, ma’am I was completely ignored and the owner lady and the waitress were right there literally 3 feet away from me. I was completely ignored. I said"excuse me. Is there a problem" very respectfully, the owner lady waved her two hands at me and said get out. really unbelievable and so unprofessional. I will NEVER ...

I visited Mande’s this morning with my family and I have to say I will not be returning. I have been a waitress for over 5 years and I have never experienced service the way I have today. I had the spinach and artichoke dip and the bread was so hard (to where I couldn’t chew with my back teeth) that I wanted to ask for something else. After waiting over 15 minutes to let my waitress know and ask for something else, she was still nowhere to be found. Nobody had any water left and my family was already done eating. When she finally came back & I was able to let her know she was so snarky and dismissing to my entire family. When the manager came to let me know that my meal would be taken off the receipt, she asked if I wanted anything else to eat— mind you my family was already done eating. She did not apologize at all and was just as dismissing as our waitress. As this is my livelihood, we still tipped— but Mande’s needs to step it up and have some of that southern hospitality that I so missed since I have moved...

We had brunch here. I had the French toast. It was made from Texas toast and I had strawberries and praline pecans on top. It was good but nothing special. My wife had her favorite, eggs Benedict. We noticed that the ham looked like two slices of deli ham, a little small but not too bad. Eggs were cooked just right. She got 'extra, extra cheese grits' and got the cheese she asked for. However I could tell by her stirring that the grits were hard and not warm enough to melt the cheese. We agreed that the iced tea was a noticeable weak. All in all, this wasn't a bad experience but not great. If someone else wants to go here, I'll go and try other parts of the menu so I can give a more thorough review.

Mande's restaurant is a comfortable atmosphere for dining in. Its uniquely decorated which makes it even more appealing. The breakfast options range from scrambled eggs , biscuits, waffles to omelettes. The food is simple but tasteful yet not overly seasoned. If you like a lot of taste with spices you can always add salt and pepper with hot sauce â˜ș. Their employees are extremely polite and attentive. The restaurant's seating is spacious as well. Great choice for breakfast, brunch or lunch in Old Mandeville.

This place is an old institution for breakfast in Mandeville. I had a very basic breakfast that was nicely cooked and tasty. Service was friendly. My wife and I came for the first time and were satisfied but not impressed with anything. Maybe the crawfish sausage bennie or omelet is worth coming back to try, but nothjng esle on the menu seemed worth the drive past other breakfast joints.
