This was our first visit and that 5th 🌟 is definitely already there, especially as far as the food and taste go. The atmosphere is beautiful and our table was very comfortable. Our server, Emily, made us feel like she already knew us. Here is what I noticed that keeps that 5th star just barely held back. Though I find myself being petty and definitely look forward to my next visit I hope a few things were simply just bad timing. First peeve, almost out of 527's control, diners at another table were intoxicated and very loud. Four older men, appearing to be retired and just hanging out for lunch, were often using profanity, offensive comments, and were never asked to be mindful of other guest. Their waiter frequently joined in their conversation and could have easily used that time to his advantage to at least make an attempt to bring the behavior to their attention. They were not so drunk that some form of suggestion to lower their voices would be too great an effort, nor too much to ask. Second, this one is admittedly very petty, but portions of the exact same order from one table to another were more than noticeable, it was almost worth questioning, but we were celebrating and I did not want to chance making any negative situation more than it was. Again, I know that it probably seems small and insignificant to mention when I really want to rave about how good our meal and service was, but we were celebrating my wife's birthday and maybe that is what made the experience not all that it could have...
Read moreWe recently dined at Pat Gallaghers and had a mixed experience. The filet mignon was absolutely delicious—cooked perfectly to a medium rare and so tender it melted in the mouth. Unfortunately, the mushroom side was burnt, and the potatoes au gratin tasted like they were missing seasoning or a finishing touch.
The atmosphere also left something to be desired. The tables were so close together that staff continuously bumped into our chairs throughout the evening, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal.
Our biggest concern, however, was a hygiene issue. The bus staff assisting the servers used a stained white dish rag to handle the hot plates, and the cloth made direct contact with the steaks—including ours. We noticed the same thing happen at the table next to us. In contrast, the actual servers used black napkins and were careful not to touch the food, which makes the difference even more noticeable. We raised the concern with our server at the end of the meal and truly hope it’s addressed moving forward.
Lastly, I had informed the staff in advance that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. While they did acknowledge it, they rushed out with a candle just as he was finishing the very last bite of his dessert. It felt like an afterthought, which was a bit disappointing.
We’d love to return because the food has great potential, but we hope to see some improvements in both service and...
Read moreOur server, Joseph was wonderful! The food was delicious! But, most of us, 18 of us, were extremely disappointed in the establishment. We were not seated in a separate room or out of the way of others. Half of us were seated against a wall and had a hard time getting up from our seats to use the restroom or to visit with others in the party. There was a small space for the servers to pass in order to get to other room of the restaurant. Every time someone got up from either side we had to use this space. We were constantly in the way of servers and others going to other parts of the restaurant. Not a good place to have a large party. It seems that parties of eight or more are seated out in the open. Where smaller parties are seated in rooms to accommodate a few parties of four to six. It seems to me, that larger parties should be set up in these rooms and smaller parties should be where we were. That way no one would have been in anybody's was. If a restaurant can't accommodate a large party, they should say that they can not accommodate your request. There was a mix up with a few of the meals. All were corrected and everyone was pleased with their orders. Again, Joseph and the food...
