This hair was in my food. So I hate that I feel compelled to do this as my neighbor works there and she is a very sweet woman. My daughter and her son go to school together. My older son went to school with the owners older daughter also when she was older and he was young kid. Wish I had noticed it earlier, but I had it down my throat and had to pull it out from my throat. Dealt with hair in food before. So not a big deal except the down the throat was a little unsettling. What has me upset is then resturants would typically just take care of that part of the meal. My daughter and wife ate their food without incident. They then suggested another meal which was good. Evidently there was a price difference and they didn't charge me the difference. The food was extremely slow because they were packed with a new cook. Understandable. Asked what was the fastest appetizer and waitress replied crab Rangoon. Ordered crab Rangoon because I thought maybe it would come out faster. Didn't really want that, just very hungry. Rangoon then comes out after my meal. Charged me for the Late Rangoon. Waitress was very apologetic, I think she still feels bad. The $3 difference in price did not take care of the situation. Hell just giving me the $6 crab Rangoon, I didn't really want would have been a better offering to make it right. Really disappointed here. Other restaurants go above and beyond if this kind of thing went on. Update:. Now I a mad. My wife and I both have FOOD POISONING. I have had diarrhea that woke me up at 5 a.m. and then violent throwing up. My daughter is the only one who didn't have the Basil fried rice and she is fine. The dish was good but pretty upset now that I have food poisoning. Really grumpy now. What is crazy is that it wasn't the food with the hair in it that made me sick. My wife didn't eat any of the cashew chicken. She only tried my Basil Fried Rice and now is just running into what I ran into hours ago. Neither son nor...
Read moreMy family and I have been to this place about 6 times since moving here! My daughter is pregnant and craving Thai food we are from Hawaii so the Thai food here is not good as we are used to but it's ok and the only choice here. It’s 8:30 pm 11/25/19 we just left this place very upset! Third time in a row they are out of sticky rice! We ordered pumpkin curry green curry and drunken chicken and red curry and appetizers we are a family of six four adults two children we never ever finish all our food we take it home it’s expensive and a treat to go out! So we eat the rest later! This night we all got up and left after packing all our food up to go! The two Curry’s were full pumpkin and green whole bowls cuz we ate lots of appetizers first time here we all got up to go no one grabbed the food we are all tired and full and grabbing the kids to go! Not gone two minutes down the road we turn around and come back to find the two mean lady’s who are always in a bad mood just stand there and say we threw it away you left it! And everyone leaves their food here! So they judged us by everyone else! Why would I ask for six containers to go? I asked why they didn’t hold them till closing to see if we returned for our meals cuz this wasn’t a piece of chicken and a grain of rice they were complete meals! We will not return here they were so rude! Didn’t give me any money back or even offer anything I even said tonight let’s go somewhere else I’m tired of rude service and now I regret this totally wish I didn’t have to give one star! I wasn’t gna mention this but pad Thai should never taste like ketchup an soggy noodles either and theirs did! So if you have never had pad Thai it’s really good just not here try it again one day...
Read moreSo, needless to say, peanut allergens beware; peanut based dishes will absolutely come with the territory. With that out of the way, let's proceed! Once again, this is an establishment enjoyed by my whole family, but that goes doubly for my parents; meat eaters will be pleasantly surprised by spring rolls and fish sauce! This food is spicy, so keep that in mind, but my family also likes their spicy pad khee mao with chicken. That's an enjoyable detail, that almost all of the offerings come with the option of a choice of protein, including but not limited to chicken and beef. By now, I think it's implied that I appreciate their tofu. There is also a sizable beer menu which features Thai imports like Singha. Less impressive to my family is their sticky rice, my family being unprepared for it to be hot. That is another important detail to remember: The desserts will feature distinctive traditional flavors, and that means they might be hot to eat. That said, being adventurous me, I was quite pleased with it! Space is tight and intimate, so if that's a distraction from the worthwhile food, all I can tell you is to mentally prepare yourself. It can also get really quiet in there, and some will find that awkward. Again, mentally prepare yourself. Little things like that can alter the overall experience, but the food is worth it! Lastly, I don't think I can review Baan Thai without a word about their Thai tea. Some will be ready to cite that it's just another Thai tea with milk and syrup, but I happen to think it's refreshing and good for a boost of energy! Baan Thai is a solid facet of the MHK scene, so don't deprive yourself; go and get a little taste of...
