So can we just pretend that it didn't take almost three years of living in Belgrade to realize The Manhattan Saloon was just a short 10 minutes away?

I mean seriously...why have I been wasting my time driving all the way to Bozeman?

We loved it here! The entire staff is so incredible and friendly. Nothing like a little small town hospitality and good eatin'.

We started off with the bar pretzel. My husband was a huge fan. It's not a traditional, doughy pretzel. It kind of reminded us of a light, fried donut. One that you would get at the carnival - a little sweet, a little savory. The queso that came with it wasn't my personal favorite but it was okay nonetheless.

What's better than a grilled ribeye? One that's smothered in mushrooms and onions, of course. Our steaks were tasty, no additional seasoning needed and worth the price.

The veggies were okay. I try to avoid bell peppers. I opted in for a baked potato and my husband ordered the fries. Both were great. Our meals also came with a slice of Texas toast but it wasn't quite toasted enough for me.

I also ordered a lemon drop martini and let's just say the bartender wasn't shy on the pour. Not sure what they use as their well-vodka but it came with a burn.

A few small notes to consider but overall, we had a great time and will...

Dang! Not a steak house any more. Perhaps this is biased as I was a big fan of sir Scott’s. But, came in vibing well with friends and excited to try the food since the change over. Had friends here earlier today that said the drinks were amazing. Better than most. Unfortunately, I ordered the steak which was equivalent to maybe a Perkins, Applebees, whatever, and over cooked (ordered blue rare, came out medium at best). Sorely disappointed. My wife’s burger was pretty good, albeit very plain, and a friends burger, the Tiger burger, looked awesome.

The baked potato was plain, just butter. Definitely not the cracker basket, veggie dish, soup or salad and then your entre with a side, and ice cream restaurant of yore.

If you’re inclined to order the steak, order the Heinz 57 as well because it’s needed.

100% wish I ordered the burger. Not because the burger was top notch, but saving the $17 over the sub par steak would have been worth it.

Update: meatballs were great. Had some takeout for friends. Take steaks...

Well...I was certainly hoping this place would be better, Manhattan dearly needs a good lunch/dinner place. This could be it...with time..??..maybe.. First, I want to say the food was good, not amazing, but, you know, good. We got bar pretzels with ale cheese sauce as an appetizer, listed at $11. When the bill came, we were charged extra for the (presumably) included cheese dip. Disappointing. The burgers were also tasty and cooked well. However...we waited 22 minutes (yes, I timed it) before anyone so much as looked at us. Also, being seated in the 'dining room' (exact same art, tables, cutlery, paint, etc etc as the O), we had a grand view into the back kitchen. Staff singing at full volume, watching kitchen staff eat with bare hands...well, they could probably use a kitchen door to cut noise and view.. I worked in the restaurant business for many long years, front and back, and the front staff badly needs some guidance. All in all, I will give it another try, but the new owners...

We went later in the afternoon and from the beginning, the service was great. Quickly seated by one person, drinks ordered by another, appetizer brought out by another, and after that our 'regular' server was conscientious of refills and check ups while not being overwhelming. The steak, our most hopeful item since its moving in for Scott's, was yummy! Nicely cooked and seasoned but not toooo salty. The rib BBQ was an odd flavor - more tomatoey and acidy. We thought it would be good on a meatloaf instead of ribs. But the ribs were fall off the bone, so I took them home and put a different BBQ sauce haha The bruschetta was a sweet and savory combo. I wish vegetables came with the dinner entrees instead of or alongside the potato. We'd call it a 4 - 4.5 and will be back to see if we should amend to 5* with a different meal, like the CFS? The service really was nice, and it's always pleasing to not have to drive to Bozeman for a good experience.
