Title: A Five-Star Culinary Journey at Dos Caminos Restaurant in Manitowoc, Wisconsin!

Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dos Caminos restaurant in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was transported to an authentic and vibrant atmosphere that truly captured the essence of Nicaraguan cuisine.

The menu at Dos Caminos is a culinary masterpiece, showcasing a delightful blend of traditional Nicaraguan dishes and a variety of American favorites. As a lover of steak and onions, I decided to indulge in their steak and onion plate, and let me tell you, it was a culinary delight! The tender and perfectly cooked steak paired harmoniously with the caramelized onions, creating a mouthwatering symphony of flavors. It was evident that the chef's expertise and passion for creating authentic dishes shone through every bite.

What truly sets Dos Caminos apart is their unwavering dedication to authenticity. The flavors and aromas that filled the air instantly transported me to the heart of Nicaragua. Each dish was meticulously prepared with the freshest ingredients, and the attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the presentation.

Beyond the exceptional food, the staff at Dos Caminos were incredibly warm and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and kind gestures. Their genuine love for their craft and commitment to providing excellent service truly enhanced my dining experience.

This was our third time there. The previous two times we had ordered the chancho con yuca and both times was incredible, thick pieces of tender pork, a really great sauce, and the yuca; almost like a stew but served on a plate. This third time we brought our daughter because we wanted her to try this fantastic restaurant. We all ordered the the yuca with pork and were looking forward to what we'd had before. This time the pork had so much fat, we all had a decent sized pile of inedible meat on our plates, which was not right, it was almost like we were given the trimmings instead of the pork meat like we'd had before. We spent well over $100 between the three of us, beers, a few apps, and the plates chancho con yuca. We only speak English, and the server was nice but I don't think he understood when I tried to explain the piles of fat on our plates. My wife does not want to go back, my daughter does not want to go back, and while I would give it another chance I don't like eating alone. Sorry, Dos Camios, but you lost some regulars. Hopefully you can take this as constructive criticism. Whoever was cooking that night was not the same person who prepared out previous meals and giving us inedible meat was a...

I really wish I could give this place a better review. I had high hopes for it. I went with a buddy of mine who was also looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t great.

The enchiladas in the appetizer we ordered were okay by themselves, but came drenched in ketchup, which ruined them. (Neither of us like ketchup.) I ordered the yucca pork, and though the meat was good, there were only two very small pieces; mostly bone. The rest of the dish was overloaded with yucca, which made it hard to finish. My friend’s meal was made wrong altogether and he didn’t like it at all.

It wasn’t just our experience. The folks at a neighboring table were also visibly frustrated with their meal.

Between disjointed service, high prices, and poorly coordinated dishes…we won’t be back. It’s unfortunate, because some of the flavors were okay, and the staff was polite…but they really need some help. Hopefully they can...

Our experience was ok 😢 😞 Food wasn't good at all.was cold.and we got horrible horrible diarrhea!!! Like we was served, not fresh food.. was old reheated up food 🥲 I believe they can do alot better with there food..make fresh please..No more diarrhea's!!! There menu looked really good..just wish it was more fresh and not served cold food.. They have lots of great potential for doing alot better by upping there game..Hot ,Fresh food!! The platter with meats maybe not such huge chunks..putting them on nice skewers with fresh veggies 😋 shish kabob..and rest that over your rice.. Flavors was spot on..yes!! Just felt it could be made more fresh and served nicely hot..felt like food was reheated up..other than that very very nice people! Just thinking you may need little more help..with workers and be a good team together ❤️

Just skip this place. Drove four hours from Minneapolis for Nicaraguan food. This place was horrible. I knew things were bad when they brought the corn chips and ketchup like salsa. Central America restaurants don't serve corn chips. Many things on the menu were not available. I ordered Vigoron, a classic Nicaraguan dish with chicharones, yuca and a cabbage salad. The chicharones were the American "pork rind" snacks you buy at a grocery store in the chip isle. It was an insult to be served the food. If you have ever had real, fresh chicharones, you understand. The person eating with me is from Nicaragua, was appalled by what the supposed "nacatamal" was like that they were served. It was missing traditional ingredients and was just bad. If you want good, authentic Nicaraguan food, go to La Marimba in Hillsboro, WI.

Got the mixed Papusa they were all right. Got the repa and the enchilada dobladas and they were phenomenal!!! Like literally so good I'm mad I didn't order more. I ordered for take out. They were really busy(Saturday) but they had my food out in 25 minutes ish. I will definitely be back! Atmosphere got a 4 star because it was nothing spectacular. Pretty clean average restaurant. Update- went again and ate inside. The person working was very nice. Instead of ordering the mixed Papusa I ordered the cheese Papusa and they were 10/10! Also ordered the plantains with cheese and cream and even my picky child liked them. He ordered a cheeseburger and it was very large and he said it was very good.
