My son and I had dinner here tonight, on Wednesday, 2/07/18. The restaurant was not very busy and we were the only customers in the front seating section. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea, my son had soda. We ordered fried alligator bites and garlic knots for appetizers. My son ordered the $39.99 porterhouse steak with fries and I ordered a $42.99 bone-in rib eye with a baked potato; both steaks were ordered medium-rare.
The iced tea was nice and fresh and showed no signs of being left in a dispenser all day. The appetizers were great and the salad bar was better than many I have tried of similar size. The home-made hummus was amazing. Our waitress went above and beyond serving us and she deserved the big tip I gave her. Now, the reason I gave 3-stars in spite of everything else that exceeded expectations, was because of how the manager handled the situation when I sent my over-cooked, tough rib eye back to the kitchen. I bent the FORK trying to cut into it near the bone where it should have been the most tender spot. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and a few minutes later the manager brought it back and tried to convince me there was nothing wrong with it. She tried telling me it was med.-rare near the bone, and I told her no, it was medium-well at the bone and pointed out my son's steak as being perfectly medium-rare. Then the manager told me "Well, he isn't going to make another one..." and I told her "Fine, take it off the bill. I can't eat it. I'll go to Subway or something,." The manager left the table and that was the end of it.
My son shared bites of his porterhouse with me, and his steak was excellent. Even the strip side was tender. Our waitress apologized for the steak incident and I told her it wasn't her fault it happened and told her everything else was great. I just could not spend $43 on a steak that was poorly cooked and so tough it...
Read moreA year ago I left the review below decided to give them another chance and it was a wonderful experience the food and waitstaff were wonderful. We traveled 2 hours just for the chopped sirloin that my husband has raved about for years he just had to have me try since I am a extremely picky eater he knew I would love it and he thought It would be a wonderful mother's day suprise for me when we got there the place was packed which I seen as a good sign of things to come the wait wasnt that long 30 mins but for food that was suppose to be as good as promised I didnt mind at all. Once we were seated the waitress (I guess that's what she was) informed us we had to eat Buffet which I despise I dont eat things that come on a bufett being that my husband was trying to suprise me I took a small plate which I took 2 bites and was done when we went to pay I was told we could have had the menu food and the lady's upfront were extremely sweet and apologetic that we were miss informed and because of the way the ladies were at check out is the only reason I am giving them 4 stars if it hadn't of been for them trying so hard to make me happy I would have given 1 star and a diffrent kind of review...
Read moreMy husband and I were going to go there for valentine's day. I called and asked if we needed a reservation and they said no come on in. We were under the impression that meant they had room. So we get there at 6pm and they say it's a 30 plus minute wait. They said nothing about that when I called. So we left and went to sand springs. We had a nice dinner at another restaurant. But a little advice to caps, if you are already on a wait ,tell people when they call and either take their info for a wait list or atleast let them know incase they change their minds. The host was not very welcoming either. I work in the restaurant industry and know what good service is. I would have liked to try them and support local but I wasn't about to wait that long. We had to work so it was hard to make reservations ahead of time. But we were fine with a little wait as that was to be expected on a night like valentine's day. But be honest with your guests and don't waste their time. Maybe we will try them...
