One of my favorite food trucks located at one of my favorite breweries - it’s a win-win for me! I usually order their beef or chicken skewers with rice. (Last picture) It comes with a side of pickled veggies and fish sauce. Each bite is multi-layered and packs a punch.
I recently heard from friends that they have chefs tasting menus and I ran over to their website to make a reservation. The reservation system is a little confusing and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to book anything. I was contacted via email and someone assisted me with a reservation! The chef’s tasting took over half of 4th tap inside seating area. They blocked off the section and you were transported into an intimate dinner among friends. It was a multi-course dinner, each plate artfully designed and paired masterfully with a 4th tap beer. The harmonious collaboration between chef and the brew masters brings the entire experience together. I believe there’s a new tasting menu each season, so i’m already looking forward to...
Read moreTried the sausage and can't wait to go back and try everything else! Talked to the owner for a bit (so friendly:) ) and his mom makes all the sausage and spicy paste stuff by hand. I lived in southeast Asia for a bit and this sausage instantly brought me back. This place is such a gem and I can't wait to return!
Oh, and on the spice.. for my dish, all the spice was on the side so easy to meter how much I wanted, but when I put 'Lao spicy' they did in fact give me Lao spicy. None of this dulling down the spice for white people business.
UPDATE: tried the crispy fried rice and the chicken skewers tonight. The first rice gets 6/5 stars like the sausage - so so flavorful and we'll textured. The chicken skewers were also good, very well cooked but the marinade wasn't my favorite (certainly not bad, just not as delicious as everything else). Still my favorite non-taco...
Read moreHmmm. The rating does not reflect the food quality—below mediocre. My friend and I ordered a few dishes and maybe 1 or 2 were decent—edible. This is not an authentic food. Lots of short cuts has been taken which displayed and taste showed. Even as simple as the sauce, Southeastern dishes use more lime and a hint of sugar. Two basic ingredients for the sauce. It was an epic fail!!! The worst item was the Bao or steam bun filled with questionable meat/stuffing. The pulled chicken or can chicken meat has a funky taste which tells me immediately not consume it—food poisoning alert. I was disappointed that quality control of food is not take seriously. Food inspected might want stop by have a quick look. Lol. Don’t waste your effort. Go get some tacos and pay half the price. You will...
