If youβre looking for a bakery that will ruin all other pastries for you forever, The Bakehouse at Maple Lake is the place. I stopped in on a Saturday morning and walked out questioning every life choice that led me to not discovering this place sooner.
First upβthe pain au chocolat. Flaky, buttery, with just the right amount of chocolateβ¦ Iβm convinced it was made by pastry wizards. The ham and cheese croissant? Pure, melt-in-your-mouth magic. And the cinnamon bun? Letβs just say I briefly considered moving into the bakery just to have access to these every morning.
Despite a steady flow of customers, the line moved faster than my self-control when faced with a display case full of carbs. The staff? So friendly and helpful that I half expected them to read my mind and recommend my next obsession (they probably could).
Yes, itβs a little off the beaten path, but that only adds to its charmβlike a secret society of pastry lovers. Is it the cheapest bakery around? No. But when youβre eating something that rivals top bakeries in major cities, you donβt question the priceβyou just thank the universe for the experience.
10/10, would happily spend my weekend...

There is a gift store, and an area to sit and enjoy the goods there. This bakery is a hidden gem, highly recommended, but is also dangerous. Once you taste their bread, you...
