The Golden Burrito — Restaurant in Mansfield

I've picked up tacos here dozens of times. These are some of the best tacos I've ever had. They aren't cheap, but if you order their combo meals they aren't a bad value.

The chicken tacos are the staple. I would recommend getting them your first time here. The chicken is always cooked and seasoned perfectly. The veggies on top are always fresh as well.

The carnitas are delicious. I think they are a bit saltier than the chicken. My favorite however are the al pastor tacos. Simply the perfect taco.

They always offer a red and green sauce. The red is spicier, quite a bit actually. And I usually use both on my tacos.

I only ordered a burrito here once. It was fine, but I feel the tacos are the reason you should visit again and again and again and again and again.....

Oh, and the raspberry cheesecake chimichangas are delish!

I'll be back here often. One of my favorite places in Mansfield to grab grub.

Edit: Decided to change up my order and got the burrito combo with chips. I can't lie, it seemed better than the first time I ordered a burrito here. Maybe the cook was having an off day the first time I ordered a burrito.

But today, not the case.

It's big, and full of my favorite ingredients. The grilled chicken is really tasty. It's the best chicken I've had at a burrito shop. The cheese was melted, which is a big step up from Chipotles cold shredded cheese.

I asked for pinto beans with mine, and they had a lot of flavor actually. The fried rice is perfect as well.

And if you get the combo with chips, salsa, and a drink, it's a really good value. It's a full serving of chips and salsa, much like you would get at a sit down Mexican restaurant.

Oh, and the chips are salted. Hallelujah! The salsa is pretty standard salsa you would get at any Mexican restaurant. But it's just what you want to go with your burrito.

The carnitas traditonal style with cilantro and onion ranks among the best tacos I've ever had anywhere. There are a lot of reasons why I think these tacos are exceptional and stand out amongst others that I've tried across the country. For myself, one of the most make or break elements of a great taco is the flavor and texture of the corn tortilla. Here they are deliciously seasoned, toasted perfectly, and maintain their integrity and don't fall apart. The next element for me is the portion of the meat, and its flavor and texture. In my opinion the amont of meat is incredibly generous and the texture is spot on, moist and tender with crispy edges, its absolutely amazing. Lastly their proportions of cilantro and onion perfectly complement the richness of the pork which carries powerfully through the balanced flavor of the cilantro, onion, and lime juice. As a world traveler and chef myself I am very critical of every element and I was truly surprised and impressed at the quality and value of this food. At a price point of $2.50 its incredibly reasonable and I truly appreciate all the effort that goes into making them as exceptional as they are. I love supporting local family businesses, and I look forward to coming here for my taco fix every time I am in town. They are incredible by themselves but even better when your with someone special. My girlfriend and I are so happy when we eat these carnitas together and I feel grateful that we found this gem of a spot to enjoy something truly special....

Golden Burrito is yet another fine little gem of a restaurant we’ve found in Mansfield.

My wife and I have been getting takeout from GB since 2017 and the food has been absolutely phenomenal! It’s ALWAYS GOOD! I don’t know how, but takeout orders are often still too hot to eat after a 10-15 min ride home? Their steak tacos, burritos and quesadillas taste so incredibly good, they might be addictive!

We’ve both met Cirillo, the owner who’s also one of the nicest folks I’ve met in Mansfield. He still works the kitchen and drive thru window because it’s obvious just talking with him that he cares about his food, his customers and the community. I once pulled in to pickup an order in my wife’s car and Cirillo noticed it wasn’t my wife driving. That’s never happened at any of the Taco Bell’s I’ve ever visited?!

I have no affiliation with Golden Burrito, I’m simply a customer. Even so, they’ve provided my family with some incredible meals that were far better than anything I’ve ever had at a chain restaurant. We’re also treated like people, not ATMs when we stop by. This degree of quality service is becoming kind of rare in USA. If a restaurant is providing such great service, they deserve praise for their efforts.
