I stopped in here briefly while in Ohio a week ago. There was only one waitress/bartender, and for the most part... she visibly hung out in the kitchen chatting with other staff instead of roaming the tables and attending to customers, which means that it took at least 10 minutes for every request we had (more water? hot sauce? drink refill?).
Towards the end of my visit, I asked if the manager was present and the waitress said āyes!ā So I asked if she could bring the manager out for a minute.... the waitress disappeared for 10 minutes.... and then instead she returned with the check (which had charged me for two things I did not order). I again kindly asked for the manager, but the waitress refused / declined to fetch him/her.
When I initially asked for the manager I simply wanted to give him/ her a few simple marketing tips to help draw more consumers to the restaurant (one of my family members visits the restaurant every week so I could easily thing of ways the place could be improved without any major spending).
Towards the end of my experience, I realized that Jakeās Eats was terribly managed... the waitresses have no sense of chain of command, and that the waitress charged me for two things I didnāt order. So when I really needed to speak to the manager (about the two things I totally didnāt order) ... the waitress basically shrugged me off. I again asked for the manager (who was within eyeview) but was shrugged off. I paid the full bill plus tip (out of principle) but the waitress seemed like she was actively knowing she could overcharge me without consequence because I was from out of state.
I do nor recommend Jakeās Eats whatsoever, and if you do decide to eat here you should record your meal so you have proof if the waitress...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've had good experience here in the past, however the last 2 trips we've had, and according to our inlaws their last trip, have been sub-par. I recently got a burger platter, the burger was cooks to well, while I asked for medium, but I don't hold that against them it happens. If it was a steak I would have an issue. But my main problem this past trip was the fries. They were good, but it was the smallest amount on a platter I've ever seen. Like a kids portion, except my kids kids meal only had 9 fries. I only had 15. From working in the service industry I get things get busy, but there were 4 servers and a bus boy, and we got our drinks over 5 minutes after we ordered food, never even asked if we wanted refills. And I get alot of orders coming in can make you rush, but a burger and fries in a dinner are a staple and shouldn't be an issue to make. I'll still go back, especially for breakfast, but hopefully things pick up and...
Read moreWe came in with my 3 year old grandson....who has energy to spare. The waitress explained that my picky energetic grandson had missed breakfast and they were now serving lunch only. When I explained my situation that he would only eat pancakes...she was so kind to make the request to the chef which very kindly agreed to do for him! ⤠And she brought them right away, knowing toddlers wait for noone! LOL! The food was excellent. I had the breaded chicken sandwich which you could tell was hand breaded...not a frozen substitute. Loved that! Very well seasoned and crisp! Fries were perfect....again, the real deal not the frozen kind! My hubby got the monte cristo sandwich and bean soup and let me taste both....which were very good as well! Tasty food, great service and kindness to this hungry Nana to boot! It's a win for this family. Thanks guys for a nice meal and the kindness. It was very much...
