I was introduced to the Mr. Wonderful’s a few months ago after trying leftover food my son had in the refrigerator and I’ve been hooked ever since. The question is why has it taken me so long to write a review? Probably because I’m in a food coma after finishing my food. This place, simply put, is WONDERFUL!!!! Everything that I’ve had has been absolutely perfect. The food is consistently good. You can tell they use fresh and quality ingredients because it comes through in everything I have tried. I normally go for the lunch specials. They have the best tasting subs in the Greater Cleveland area hands down and they’re not even a sub shop. Just last week I tried their chicken and waffles for the first time. The chicken was a bit small but I’m complaining, at all, I just wish I had a few more than the 3 that comes with the special. Talk about chicken seasoned and fried to perfection! I wanted to sing and dance while eating. I thought my grandmother was in the kitchen frying the chicken. And the waffle…unbelievably fluffy and full of flavor. This place is in a league of their own. If you are a Clevelander or visiting this place is a must try. Moving on…so on Thursdays they have a turkey burger as a lunch special. I had to try one since I didn’t pack a lunch, however, I wasn’t expecting much because I LOVE burgers, real burgers and I’m not talking about fast food chain burger joints either. First bite made we want to turn around and kiss the cook!! Their turkey burger is the reason I had to write a review. OMG!! They nailed!! This burger was such an unexpected surprise. It is on my list of the one of the best burgers and the best turkey burger I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor. Make your stomach happy and go to Mr.Wonderful. OMG I almost failed to mention the red velvet cupcakes. They are so hard to resist. They sell out quickly and for good reason, so good, so moist. Mr. Wonderful’s keep doing what you are doing don’t change a thing! Keep the chef happy so that he can keep making...
Read moreUpon calling this establishment to place an order, I was initially greeted over the phone by a pleasantly recorded and much appreciated message stating that masks are required inside. A young lady answered shortly after and proceeded to take my order.
I arrived to pick up my order only to be disappointed beyond belief. I witnessed the following:
ONE person in the back preparing food was wearing his mask correctly (fitted mask covering NOSE & MOUTH). The other 5 or 6 employees opted to wear their masks sitting below their nose and some even below their mouths. Wearing a mask incorrectly contributes to the spread of illness. I gave my payment to the cashier and waited at the counter for my order. In between taking payment from other customers in line, the 'cashier' picked up spills with bare hands, mopped the floor, handled Styrofoam food containers by opening them and squeezing sauce inside and/or adding sides to the container, as well as handle cash between customers. No gloves were in use. The other 'cashier' was also handling food without the use of gloves, by opening the Styrofoam containers and adding sauce and/or sides - all while wearing a mask underneath the nose. The 'sides' station was less than clean. Spills that appeared to have happened prior to me arriving were left around most of the stainless steel containers and over time, dried.
None of the employees appeared to think any of this was a problem or were embarrassed in the least. No one held their co-worker accountable for wearing their masks incorrectly. This leads me to believe it's business as usual.
Reviews are not always about the quality of food, but instead, about the integrity of the establishment - which ultimately determines every experience with the establishment. I will not...
Read moreUpdate 6/25/22: I gave this place another go and I should’ve just kept my money. I ordered a chicken philly w/ everything on it and sauce on everything and a loaded chicken and shrimp potato. The total came up to $28.90, which is high but I understand with the economy right now. When I arrived to pick up my order, I noticed there wasn’t sauce on everything like I had asked. I told the young lady at the counter and she told me it would be a dollar extra for me just to have sauce on my sandwich. NEVER in my life since I have been coming here did I ever have to pay extra for sauce on my sandwich. I ordered this meal many times in the past and never had a problem with them putting sauce on it, now it’s an issue. They already put sauce on the fries, why charge more just to add some to my Philly?! Absolutely made no sense. I am sick and tired of this place. If you are going to up your prices at least make sure the food is decent! My Philly didn’t even have everything like I asked no peppers or anything! Dry sandwich, pitiful , after I done paid $28.90 for this. My mother had the loaded potato which she had no complaints, so that is good. I am already hungry and irritated, having a terrible meal just ruined my night. I am no longer supporting this business and I will be making a complaint as well to whoever in charge.
Old 2 years ago: I’ve been going here for years without any problems and the food had always been good but LATLEY....just terrible. I shouldn’t be calling y’all and receive no answer for two hours straight and when I get here it honestly just takes too long. Service is not the same anymore 🤦🏾♀️ Please get...
