Response to owner: No, she did not ask “did you order yet.” She was standing back by the back counter and we were sitting at the closest booth to the door. She had to shout to be heard by virtue of our distance. We were told “sit anywhere you like” by your cook and there was also a sign stating this. If people don’t understand your business, the fault lies with YOU the business owner, NOT the customer. What SHOULD have happened is that your waitress should have assessed what was missing and taken care of it or asked us to move to the other side of the restaurant. We are not mind readers, it was our first time in your establishment and it will be our last. You waitress lied, she did say exactly what I said and it was shouted from the back counter of the restaurant. If I spoke too fast in my ordering, there are polite ways to ask for clarification. You justifying her abrasive behavior, like she had no other options except to be rude, is very telling of how your business will fair. No accountability, always blame the customer, no room for growth or professional development. I’m guessing that is why the restaurant was empty. Why wasn’t the waitress ready when you were open? Why was the cook the one who sat us? Your cook had much better bedside manner than your waitress. I have no motivating factors to lie, I do not know you or anyone who works there, I was just simply shocked at the way we were treated so I wrote a review. I’m even more shocked at an owner responding this way.
My family and I were the first customers of the day this morning. The man who sat us seemed a little out of his element but did alright. We found a puzzle sitting on a table and began putting it together while waiting on our waitress. The man who sat us came back and asked if we wanted drinks, then came back with the drinks and asked if we still needed time. I said well we need menus. It was like this for everything. We had to ask for cream, sweetener, salt and pepper. He came back with menus and left again. The first time we interacted with our waitress was a few minutes later. She shouted from across the room, “Are you wanting to put in an order or what?” Shocked, I answered yes. I ordered for myself, she was quite abrasive when telling me “hold on! How do you want your eggs?” After I got done with my order and my children’s order, she shrugged and looked at me like I was a jerk for coming in this morning and said “is that it?” I relied still quite shocked, uh my husband would like to order.” She did get a little better through our visit but I’m still left baffled. I am not sure I could be like that to people who hadn’t done...
