Landmark BBQ — Restaurant in Margaret

This was our first experience with Landmark BBQ. We were excited to possibly have some great food & service near our home. We ordered the pork take-out family special. Our two sides were onion rings, side salad and added a small side of potato salad along with a small side of extra bbq sauce. I called back to confirm the salad dressing and was told they only have ranch, which is what I wanted anyways. After picking up our order and returning home, we noticed our meal was not correct. Instead of a side salad and small potato salad, we had a large potato salad and a small cole slaw. We also did NOT receive the extra sauce. I called Landmark and was told that side salad was not an option with the take out meal. They were NOT concerned that the order was NOT correct and that half the people eating did NOT have 2 sides with their meal (because they do not like potato salad). They were not concerned with that or that we did NOT have enough sauce for the bbq, even though we had paid for extra. The impression they gave us was that it wasn't their problem it was mine. I was told that I could drive all the way back up there, pay more money and then I could get my salad and extra sauce, even though we had already spent $30. We were so disappointed with the lack of customer service...

I like to say that I like a little BBQ with my sauce but this was absolutely swimming in sauce. Also I love anything sweet but this BBQ sauce was overwhelmingly sweet. The "smoked" beans seemed to be also strongly flavored with the same BBQ sauce. Potato salad seemed like homemade but had a strange sour aftertaste. The toasted bread was the best part of the meal. I was not greeted when I came in, actually felt like I was putting out the two employees who had to get up from a table and put their phones down long enough to fix me a plate and take my money. A person who I assume is an owner came in while I was eating and also never addressed me; no one ever asked if my meal was okay or if I needed anything. Possibly because although there are three tables they aren't used to anyone actually dining in? I did get a half smile from the register girl as I was leaving and was offered a lid for my to go cup. Caution! Delicious food coma ahead! This place was exactly what we have been looking for. We got food for 4 and had more than enough! The ribs were exactly what you expect from an awesome bbq spot! The tea was on point and the sides did not disappoint. We had friendly service and they even let us sample something to make sure we would be happy with our choice! If you want good bbq this is a wonderful spot. Dine in area is small, but it matches the feel of the place, and I wouldn’t want it any bigger. Prices were great and I’m including the recent menu so you don’t have to stand around for an hour figuring it out… cause once you smell it you want to try everything! We got our sauce on the side and I would recommend that since everything tastes so good even without it. Not to say it wasn’t amazing, but I don’t like too much sauce on my ribs.
