Me and my best friend went in for a few drinks last night. There were two bartenders, both girls. They never looked at us, said hello, spoke to us the entire time we were there. We had to wait 15+ minutes in between beers while we watched them serve the group of guys on the corner shot after shot after shot. We were there 2 hours and had 2 beers each. We would’ve had more, but were tired of being ignored. We asked to cash out and one of them said “you’ll have to wait, I’m really busy” then continued to stand in the corner and talk to the guys. Took about 10 minutes for her to bring our checks for 2 beers a piece because she was standing there just twirling around in her little black dress. The bartender with the long blonde hair down to her butt literally never said a single word to us the entire 2 hours or even look at us. We didn’t leave a tip because it was the worst service I have ever had. My friend and I are both bartenders/servers and are always good tippers but we were so mad. Moral of the story, don’t go into Pookie’s to drink unless you’re a dude the bartenders can flirt with. They won’t even look at you if you’re a woman. We left and went to another bar and tipped the bartenders...

Today was our second trip to Pookies, one of many more to come. The service, food, prices and atmosphere are wonderful. A couple weeks ago we just happened upon Pookies and was very impressed with our server, Brandon and our meal and the prices. We did not get any pictures of our hamburger and fries unfortunately. We made a planned trip to go back today to try the Salameat Pork Burger which we had heard about. It is the creation of the owner who grinds and seasons the meat himself. It was absolutley delicious♡. Our server Kristi was a complete delight. Both times at Pookies we enjoyed talking with Dan the owner. His heart is in the place and it shows. It is so nice to find a place where the beer is ice cold, the food is hot, the owner and staff are so welcoming. My picture of the Salameat Pork Burger and fried mushrooms does not do it justice. My phone does not do well in lower lighting. UPDATE: 05/04/23 Decided to try their wings today. They are amazing. Smoked, flash fried, had mine tossed in BBQ sauce....

Heard great things about this place. Have a friend who eats here everytime he comes to town. We where not as pleased. The service was great and people friendly. Combination platter had fried pickles, fried mushrooms, and pretzel bites. Pickles were over fried and the pretzel bites were over cooked. Fried mushrooms were decent. I ordered the salameat burger with carmalized onions. My sandwhich was void of any flavor. They put peppers and onions on it, considered it a bonus, but they where not carmalized and some how void of flavor too. My husband ordered the creole burger, which was also void of any flavor. Both sandwiches where edible, but definitely not enjoyable. The French fries were yummy and perfectly seasoned. Our friends enjoyed their...

Very nice and clean establishment. We all went for lunch one day and I ordered the "Pookie" burger. It is 10.00 for just the burger. I think she said it was supposed to have, hamburger, ham, bbq sauce and one onion ring. It was a pretty small burger patty, I didn't taste the ham nor see it. And yes it was just one single onion ring that was destroyed before it was put on burger. Just priced a bit to high for what you get, but it was tastey. The shrooms kicked total ass!!!! So, it'd be nice to either see the price drop or the size of the burger grow. As of right now, the price isn't justifiable.

I tried out the Coffee Burger which the gentleman at the bar told me that the coffee rub doesn't taste like coffee it just makes it super tender. I will tell you it was one of the most tender burgers I have eaten. It had nice thick cut bacon, Gouda cheese, with a Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce that was good. I had it with classic beer battered onion rings and you could tell they were made in fresh oil. Food was Excellent. Service was Excellent. Kitchen was super fast. Huge selection of Great bourbons too. Wish I was staying the night in Marion I would have tried a few out.
