Affordable Sushi Experience at Masa in Marlboro, NJ I recently visited Masa, a sushi spot in Marlboro, NJ, to take advantage of their half-price sushi promotion. As a fan of spicy sushi rolls, I ordered the spicy salmon, spicy shrimp, spicy lobster, and spicy yellowtail rolls. Although my expectations were high, my experience ended up being a mix of pros and cons, ultimately reminding me that "you get what you pay for." While the presentation of the takeout order was neat and appealing, I was disappointed to find that the sushi rolls appeared to be pre-made, resulting in an overall dry texture. The fish lacked the fresh, succulent quality that I typically look for in sushi, and the rolls didn't have the satisfying, moist consistency I had hoped for. Despite the dryness of the rolls, the spiciness was well-balanced, adding a pleasant kick to each bite without overpowering the flavors of the fish. The combination of flavors in the rolls was still enjoyable, even if they didn't quite hit the mark in terms of freshness and texture. One aspect that stood out positively was the speed of service. My takeout order was ready quickly, which is always a plus when hunger strikes. The staff was also friendly and efficient, making the overall process of ordering and picking up my food hassle-free. An important highlight of my experience at Masa was the half-price sushi deal, which made the meal an affordable option for those on a budget. While the quality of the rolls might not have been exceptional, the budget-friendly price point made the experience more palatable, proving that you get what you pay for. Taking into account the food, pricing, and service, I would rate my experience at Masa in Marlboro, NJ, as a solid 4 stars. While the sushi rolls were a bit of a letdown in terms of freshness and texture, the balanced spiciness, quick service, friendly staff, and budget-friendly prices made it a decent experience overall. I would recommend Masa to those looking for affordable sushi options, but with the understanding that the quality might not be top-notch.

I’ve been going here for a while now but the past two times I went I’ve had a bad experience. I didn’t initially want to write a bad review but this is a consistent problem now. The first time this happened I was enjoying my sushi roll when I bit something hard and pulled out a toenail clipping shaped piece of plastic and they took it off the bill and said it was from their plastic containers in the kitchen. Yesterday I went to Masa and had the salad. When I looked at the lettuce I saw a bunch of little strands that looked like hairs but they were also plastic. I pulled it off the lettuce and cleaned it off and it was once again plastic. I didn’t say anything I just set it off to the side but I am really hesitant on going back there just for this to happen again. I’ve attached a photo of what was in the salad once I took it out.

Best things first, they have a ginormous menu and provides lots of options for people who may not be diehard fans of Sushi. And it complies with the numero uno thing I like about most smaller food joints in New Jersey - BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle). The spicy options in the Sushi are really good. We also loved the shrimp fried rice. While we initially had no plans for dessert we could not resist the fried banana option and walked away very satisfied. The team that keeps the place running works hard to ensure that they can do everything to accommodate your requests and keep a smile on their face. This is a family favorite for us and we land up here for a nice satisfying meal both on weekdays and weekends.

At first I was looking for a good sushi place to have sushi because i kept buying sushi from Sam's club but i was wondering if there was somewhere where they could make fresh sushi that was really good so i found Masa, I was surprised by the overall quality of the sushi I played $6 for 12 California rolls I was so surprised and happy with the food that I came back for more in the end, when I came in I was greeted with friendly workers and they all wanted to help and described everything on the menu for me, I was super pleased by the service and only took them 2 mins to get my food for me, they offered other options of food and any sort of drink with my food. I would say the service here was probably the best service I have seen in a place in a long time. I give this 5 out of 5 stars for being the best service and the best sushi I have tasted, there was barely...
