Hello spiro I understand you are the owner of stax My name is Josie cook and I was at your restaurant today. And it's not often that I would publicly say this ..... But you should be aware of what goes on I was in your restaurant today. Yes, I understand it was Father's Day. But there are ways of handling things, especially when you're dealing with the public. I was there with my son. I'm a single mom and he was taking me out for Father's Day. We waited close to an hour to be seated. There were people in front of us who were there even longer than I was. We finally got seated and as we were waiting. There were a lot of complaints that I am hearing from people around me while I was waiting. We finally got seated. The people that were in front of us were at the next table. And there was a man and a small little girl. Sitting to the right of us, there was also a very large party of 10 people celebrating a Muslim holiday that were sitting in the back. There for over fifteen minutes before a wonderful waitress Adriana came over to the table. I noticed it was busy but by this point there was no one else waiting because a lot of people left and they had heard the complaints from other people around us, so they just left not good. I told Adriana that to save herself. A couple of trips back-and-forth. We were ready to order we. Ordered coffee. An espresso eggs, a very simple order. When I unrolls my silverware, it was extremely dirty and there was no spoon that came with the coffees that took another 20 minutes to get the coffees and we had asked for water. And that still didn't get there. We waited over 50 minutes. To get too simple egg dishes. The people behind us had waited over an hour and still did not receive their food. The man with the little girl, the little girl was in tears and was crying at the table because she thought her father was mad by this time the party of 10 who had waited. And was there before us. Totally walked out. There were approximately 5 empty tables. And no one waiting to be seated by this point when I went over to the hostess and told her that my silverware was dirty and showed her what an attitude. She continued to check her list. Came back and apologized and still did not get cleaned silverware. By this point, my son got up and went over to the waitress and said if we were not getting to be served after now almost an hour twenty min we were leaving and so were the people behind us, which I had no idea who those people were at this point. The manager woman should have come over to each one of our tables, especially the little girl who was crying and made some type of apology. How long ago we got there at 11:15? We didn't leave until almost 2 o'clock. Your waitress Adriana was so nice she kept apologizing. But no one from your management came over. There were 3 more complaints about waiting over 45 minutes from the table behind us. When we got the bill, we should have been comp. Our waitress get us 10% off? I just think it was very poor management. Do not even come over and apologize with so many complaints. And so many people walking out. Yes, it was Father's Day, but by this time there was no one waiting. You had empty tables. And we still did not get our food . You are in the people business. You are in the food business. You should have hired more Cooks Or help for the kitchen If you are expecting big crowds for a holiday again. I am an organizer of a large Meetup group. I was there to test out the place. Maybe to bring my group there. Absolutely, absolutely. No way you should be made aware of what is going on, especially when you have a party of 10. Walk out the door you have another customer complaining at the counter and the 3 tables around us. Also, waiting over an hour and twenty mins for simple eggs is outrageous to get food. Not good Spiro .....I will not...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I just went to try Stax, that we’ve been excitedly waiting to open. Today was opening day. We expected the place to be very busy, even anticipated a wait. We arrived and were able to be seated immediately. There were about 6 other tables seated in the place, a few of which appeared to be managers/owners of some sort. Please note, we arrived and were seated at 9:19am.
I have a gluten allergy, so was ecstatic to see they had MANY gluten free options very clearly stated on the menu. Options included GF pancakes, GF French toast, brunch bowls, etc. I couldn’t decide between the pancakes and French toast, and finally picked the pancakes. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry fields pancakes.
About 10-15 minutes later, the waitress came over to tell me that they did not, in fact, have the gluten free pancakes, but did have the French toast. I had no problem with it at all, and told her it was fine. Back to waiting...and waiting.
At 9:54, another waitress came over to inform me that the kitchen just told her they did not have the gluten free bread for the French toast. So at this point, a few questions went through my mind. First and foremost was why the waitress, on her first day, was the one consistently coming over to inform customers of the restaurant being unprepared on opening day. The fact that a manager was not immediately at the table to explain both times about the situation was mind blowing. The waitresses were insanely sweet and my qualm is not with them at all. The manager was present and in clear view, behind the coffee bar with his back to us. The management and preparedness for opening day of a business was underwhelming to say the least. We cancelled the rest of the order, left money for our coffee, and left STILL before a manager even set foot near our table or us. This will leave an extremely bad taste in our mouths. We are huge foodies and I am disappointed to say this is my first negative review I’ve ever left. I hope Stax can get it together and I wish them good luck even though I have no intention...
Read moreLast Saturday (10/29/22) was the first time my wife and I had breakfast there. To be fair, our only one time experience can only be for reference (especially about their foods and drinks) and definitely not a comprehensive assessment of their overall service.
The environment is spacious and the decoration is nice. However, we found the music a little bit too loud. It might be due to the fact that we sat at a table under the speaker.
We ordered Ben's Maduro and Muertos Rancheros together with two American coffees.
We were surprised that there was no tea spoon included in the silverware for us to stir our coffee while putting in cream and sugar.
The coffee was very strong but lacking flavor. It is not even as good as the ones from Wawa. Sorry for the critical comment.
The two dishes were presented nicely on big white stoneware plates. However, the portion of food was small and the meat sauce was salty.
When we asked for the bill, we found out that there was a 3% card processing fee on it. Is it a new trend for restaurants to transfer this to customers? So bring cash if you want to avoid paying the extra 3%.
Besides not including a tea spoon in the silverware, the waitress just brought me the bill and a pen without bringing a small pad or plastic board. So I had to sign the bill on the table, but the surface of the country style table was rough and holes would be punched on the bill if I sign it this way. So, I ended up placing the bill on the smooth side of my wallet and signed on it.
These two minor things make me think that the management may have put a lot of efforts into big things like the decoration and a fancy fresh juice squeezing machine in the bar area, but missed those little things that can give customers an enjoyable...
