This is my absolute favorite local restaurant. They appear to be your classic local pizza shop. But, when we dined in and got a look at their dinner specials.....I knew this was so much more. They start you out with hot rolls with perfectly seasoned oil. Then out comes the salad with only the freshest ingredients complete with sweet peppers, pickles, and 1 Baggett loaded with bruschetta. Then the main course. I have ordered the special so many times and have never, EVER been disappointed. A few visits ago, the owner (Frank) delivered the special menus to our table himself. I held out my hand in refusal and said, "I'll order the special. " He asked."But, what if it's something you do not like?" I told him that would be impossible. Now that I'm thinking about it....I don't know which part I like best about our Dolce Vita dining experiences, the delicious food or Frank. Whether he's talking to us or the people sitting at the neighboring tables. I find him extremely entertaining and welcoming. I should also mention that my favorite dish order off their everyday menu is the Eggplant Rollantine. Regretfully, I can not at this time write a review for the dessert selection. Only because I find it difficult to exercise self-control with all the deliciousness that is severed from their magical kitchen. But, it's a new year, and I'm in need of a good resolution. What?🤷♀️ It's good to have goals......
Read moreThis has been our Go-to pizza spot for the past 6 months after rediscovering them when our other "go-to" spot sold to a different owner and the quality declined! I've lived in the area for 15 years, tried just about everywhere else, and keep coming back to Dolce Vita. It is the place to go for a good pizza (excellent crust and quality ingredients), but you gotta try the cheesesteak too! On second thought, just about everything on the menu is absolutely delicious! Frank and his waitstaff are all 1st class humans with extraordinary hospitality, plus an amazing kitchen staff that pumps out incredible food consistently. It's worth a drive here, you will not be disappointed. Sit at a table, enjoy the wine cork artwork throughout the place, and escape to Italy for a brief moment as you enjoy some of the best Italian food in Montgomery County. Here's a photo of our new family favorite combination, large cheese-well done-half w/ extra sauce. (I like things saucy, my wife doesn't) ha! And a cheese...
Read moreUnfortunately my meal was some of the most bland and underwhelming food I’ve had in a while! The pasta sauce tasted like canned crushed tomatoes with zero seasoning. While the chicken cutlet despite being thin and tender, was oily, over-fried and flavorless. The garlic knots were cold and oily, but I loved that they used fresh garlic! The meat sauce closely resembled the underwhelming plain tomato used for my chicken parmigiana. HOWEVER, that Limoncello cake was the PERFECT blend of sweet, tart, light and creamy. 10s across the board!
All in all, I’d heard great things about Dolce Vita and was excited to give them a try, but now I think ordering pizza would have been a better choice!
My order: Chicken Parmigiana w/ angel hair pasta(came with a side salad): 3.5/10 A side of meat sauce: 4/10 Garlic knots: 5/10 Slice of the Limoncello...
