Korner Island — Restaurant in Marquette Heights

Finally got up to see the new, permanent location option for the Peoria Kona Ice and it was worth the short drive! I've loved the shaved ice for years, but catching the trucks have sometimes led to disappointment and this solves that problem!

I decided to try The Kali, a scoop of Hershey's ice cream and a snow cap of shaved ice. Because I haven't had anything like this since a summer internship on the East coast over a decade ago, I played it safe with vanilla ice cream and cherry flavor for the ice and it was DELICIOUS!!! I let my Mom try, who had been suspicious of the combo when I told her about it and even she liked it! To make it better, this menu item comes with a reusable cup, which makes it all the easier to remind myself to plan my next trip.

The teens working were polite and prompt, and the patience of the girl taking my order as my indecisive self wavered was really top notch. Bring a few dollars for their tip jar because they work hard to earn it!

Love our little hometown Kona Ice! Yummy ice cream flavors and so many shaved ice flavors. Staff is always friendly and the kids love riding their bikes here often for a treat.
