What can I say about this place? It's really simple. The expression, "First impressions are everything." rings soundly true here at Joe Pine.
I visited this place for a political event, not even knowing that it existed. Ordered a cappuccino, which is really simple, but so many places get wrong. Joe Pine nailed it!
They have three sizes of coffee, and they recommend the smallest for their normal brewed cappuccino, and with good reason. It is bold, but not overwhelming, and there is very little froth on top, which is a great departure away from the overly foamy nonsense you get from Starbucks, and other coffee houses.
The place is quaintly set in the downtown area of Marshall, TX. With several places to sit down inside, and a spacious patio about 1 block away from the historic courthouse, the menu is simple, and the place is spotless. WIFI is available, as you would expect in any establishment of this type, and certainly a college town.
About 5 days later I brought the entire family. Once again they nailed the brewing, and my whole family had nothing but glowing remarks about the place. My only regret is, I have to drive about 1 hour away to get a decent cup of Joe in the Longview/Marshall area.
If you are looking for good coffee, Joe Pine is really the only choice in this part...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a native East Texan who moved away, I've never been able to really explain East Texas to people not from here. From your first step inside Joe Pine, you can feel exactly what I've spent years trying to explain. Joe Pine exudes the casual Southern hospitality and charm that hallmark East Texas. This special ETX stop is clean, friendly and welcoming with just the right subtle homage to its location behind the Pine Curtain. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and feels instantly like making a new friend.
Joe Pine is not only serving up the best atmosphere in Marshall, their coffee menu is a stand out amongst other local coffee houses. The menu is well-crafted without feeling pretentious to the average coffee drinker while maintaining a sophistication to please even the most refined coffee taste.
Whether you just need a pick me up, a place to study or are looking to explore a new roast: Joe Pine is your spot. Thanks for bringing this gem to the folks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all, I'm going to address the last comment made by the owners to a post I didn't actually put up. But I am putting this post up. I have actually been inside the coffee shop, and it is nasty. The employees ARE rude, and the 2 women who run it have no idea how to run a business, let alone how to deal with customer service. You cannot be " cut & dry " with customers and expect to stay in business. The only people who go there are people who have nothing better else to do. Secondly, " disgruntled " about the city. Where do you have proof of this ? Prove that someone is " disgruntled " before posting this kind of information. I tell ya what we can do, I can being running an ad on the station here to advise people to stay away from that trashy dump. Don't think our listener database won't hear this. No one here cares anything about Marshall, but they WILL be hearing this ad start running on Monday December 20. That I...
