OUTSTANDING!! Wish I could give 10 stars! We have passed by several times on our way to and from Springfield.....always saying, “One day we need to try Hucklebucks.” Tired and hungry, but needing to continue our 4 hour trip, we stopped in for a Carry-Out last night. The atmosphere inside was fun and inviting, a live band was starting to play. The place was packed, but as I approached the counter I was immediately greeted with a smile and my order taken quickly. Customer service is number one here, I can tell.....during my short wait, I was asked by several different employees if I was being helped-all with a smile as well. Better service than I have received at any restaurant, hands down. The price was VERY reasonable for the size of the order and the amount of food! (If you leave this place hungry, it’s your OWN fault!) Just sayin.’ The brisket was melt in your mouth tender. The pulled pork.....Holy Moses....you haven’t eaten until you’ve tried that. The food was hot, fresh, and hit the spot. You know a restaurant is pretty awesome when you don’t want to leave. Seymour and nearby locations are so lucky to have such a place to frequent. As we continued our trek home, we all agreed we WILL be back......to Dine-In, enjoy the decor, the music, the food, and the inviting service.....in fact, ya might have to boot us out!!! P.S. Is there a room in the back to sleep off the food coma? Asking...
Read moreIf you’re passing through on this “shortcut” between KC and Memphis, and you have any kind of discerning taste for BBQ, I would skip this place.
If leftover, reheated BBQ is something you’re in to, maybe this is your kind of place
3 meat plate with 2 sides
Brisket, sliced from the flat, clearly reheated. Flavor and texture really not bad. Not dry. I’m just a spoiled BBQ snob. Very little fat or bark. 3/5
Ribs, most likely reheated. 2 smallish bones. Dry rub, not sauced. Seems like a pretty small portion considering the $2 up charge for ribs. 2.5/5
Pulled pork. Tastes nearly identical to the ribs. Some of the stringy meat seems kind of dry. 2.5/5
Beans, as plain and basic as it gets. Tastes 100% identical to Van Kamp’s brand straight out of the can with ground beef added. When a BBQ place serves beans that are this bland, I can’t help but think they’ve just given up and don’t care. 0/5
Overall, it’s just basic, uninspired BBQ. If you’ve had 4.5/5 BBQ from the more well known BBQ cities - that’s not what you’re getting here.
The service was good, and the food came out very fast, but the food will unfortunately not inspire any...
Read moreI have only been here twice because I live 2 hours East but I drive a semi truck for a living. I've had great barbecue in a lot of states This is by far the best barbecue you will find in Missouri. This might be the best barbecue in the country. There's a place called Soul Man's BBQ I've been to a few times that has a few locations in the Dallas and Houston area in Texas. The flavor of their sauce can't be beat but it's runny. Hucklebuck 60's barbecue sauce is a close second in terms of flavor, I love how thick and sticky it is. Also the prices at Huckleberry 60 BBQ cannot be beat. And they have live music in the evening. This place is truly a gem, do yourself a favor and stop here for lunch or dinner if you're in the area. The people are always warm and friendly and serve you with a smile. I told them I was on my way home and asked if I could park my big truck long enough to get some food and walk my dogs. They said absolutely fine, no problem! They misplaced my ticket on a to go order and ended up giving me a refund and a free meal for my long wait. I would give this place a hundred stars if that...
