My parents went into this store today to get some ideas: they’re building a new home after their home was destroyed by a fire a few months ago. They’ve had an extremely rough go the last couple months, as my mom has also been sick and in the ICU and almost died a few times. Needless to say, they were happy to be out, looking at items and starting to think about their new home. This quickly changed after they started looking around Mansfield Building Supply. My mom said that both employees were extremely rude and acted put out any time my parents asked a question. Nothing in the store was priced, so my dad asked the pricing on cabinetry, wood, backsplash tile, etc., and the guy working was not helpful at all and—even worse—he was extremely RUDE. He acted annoyed by every question my dad asked, especially about pricing (although nothing was marked) and eventually even said “I can’t tell you prices until you leave here, figure out exactly what you want, down to the inch, and come in with your plans.” I felt sad and frustrated my parents got such horrible service, especially in a home town store. I’m very disappointed because we would much rather keep our dollars local and in the Seymour community than give them to a big box store like Lowe’s or Home Depot, but we will most certainly NOT be returning here now that the employees were so rude. Please, train on customer service and treat customers with the respect...
Read moreExtremely poor customer service. Very sad for a small town store. We bought hundreds of boards from them for a large project, and had about 15 left over. We kept them in perfect shape and called them about returning them. They said we needed the receipt or the card we purchased it on and they could look it up. We are a construction company and have tons of receipts, but I could not find it... We loaded up the 16' boards and brought it in to return via the debit card we used to purchase them, and not only would they not return them like they said over the phone, they were rude and extremely unhelpful. Made zero effort to take care of their customer. We have been doing business there for many years before they sold, but this manager deserves to lose customers. As a business owner and business coach, the ownership needs to do more to train there employees how to take care of customers. Even if there was nothing they could do, they should at least make effort. This was pathetic. I truly believe they are good people, but they do not deserve business with that...
