I will first say that I have always gone to the Abington location, this was my first trip to Marshfield at my parents request, they have enjoyed it there. With that said I have read a few reviews and I have found some common dislikes. We went there for Mother’s Day and they had a special menu. When we first arrived we were about 20 minutes ahead of our reservation time. The gentleman at the front door was fantastic, he was very friendly and very welcoming, he sat us right away. As we walked past the front desk we received a warm welcome from everyone there. First the appetizer, I ordered scallops wrapped in bacon. Now the last time I got these I was in the Abington location and they were U-10 Scallops and oh so good. The dish we got here was about 10 scallops wrapped in bacon and the scallops were no very big, less than 1/2 the size of the U-10’s and they tasted ok, just disappointed. The waitress, wish I got her name, was friendly enough and seemed to be in a rush to get our order in. I think normally waitresses wait until all the menus have been placed down before asking if we were ready to order, so about the fourth time asking we put our order in. Rolls were brought to the table and when we requested more from another worker there, we never got them until we finally saw our waitress again. The food was delivered by servers. We never saw our waitress again until we were about 3/4 the way through the meal. She never checked on us when the food was delivered. Another review stated the same thing and excused it as it was very busy that night. The waitress takes the order...that’s it, everything is brought to the table by servers. I ordered the filet mignon tips, lobster and shrimp. Someone forgot to tell the cook about the shrimp and I had to wait a good way through my meal to finally see the waitress to tell her, she brought me out 1 jumbo shrimp. The filet mignon tips were not tips at all, it was sliced filet mignon and then cooked like little steaks with onions. I ordered medium well. There were three pieces, of which one was cooked as I ordered the other two were still bloody. The worst part about the meats was that the way it was cooked it tasted like liver and onions. My wife enjoyed her meal but thought it was small. My mother ordered the the broiled seafood dish. It came with lobster okay, 1 claw. My father ordered the swordfish, that was the best meal. A big slice of swordfish and lobster mashed. At the end of the meal my mother ordered decaf coffee, it came out cold, of course we had to wait for our waitress and ended grabbing one of the servers. We were then told they were putting on a fresh pot. The other bad thing was the air conditioning blowing down right on us. I write this review not to discourage people from going there, as I read many good reviews, but wrote this so that they may correct what needs or should be corrected. Even still I think next time I will go to the Abington location to compare. I have never had a bad experience at the...
Read moreReally disappointed. I live in Marshfield and I have been told to go here by neighbor and others. Even my roommate still bloats about the time he went in November.
Yesterday was the night to try, after thinking of a new spot to take my significant other for a end of the weekend cap off. Boy was this underwhelming.
We sat and were greeted promptly, but it as strange as our waitress had other tables in her section, and I could hear her talking to all her tables - she said the same thing to all of them - like reading a script. It was odd but that's whatever.
We started with calamari that came out within 3 min of ordering, this app was not seasoned at all and we assumed plopped on our plate straight from the fryer. But we were so hungry we tried to eat it, only to find it was really gummy like and still lacking flavor even doused in the peppercini sauce.
Then we got our entrees. I ordered off the specials menu and got a shrimp crab cake & lobster risotto. My dish was dropped off hot, so I didn't take a bite for a few minutes. Our waitress was sat two 6 tops when we got our food and she asked before I took a bit how the food was, we said fine, but then we never saw her again. I took a bite and it was awful. So bad. The lobster was extremely stringy and over cooked, and the risotto has no flavor, and somehow it was like the shrimp was raw. My plate looked completely untouched, and still I had two bussers ask if I wanted it wrapped up, I said no, I'm still eating (I wasn't) because I wanted our waitress to come over so I could tell her about my meal. No one asked if anything was wrong! All I wanted was to offer some feedback and maybe replace with a salad and I couldn't even do that. Once the THIRD busses asked to clear our plates I said heck with this, take them, because clearly I won't be able to send this dish back with the correct person or general manager.
$70 later and I left hungry. I'm really sad about this experience! Please do better and please be attentive and genuine to your tables. We are not robots and each guest should be...
Read moreWhat can I say but “Excellent” Large open restaurant with lots and lots of seating. Also lots of free parking too. We came on a busy a Saturday night and were seated right away by the fireplace. The place is bustling and busy so the noise level is up there. Not that it’s a bad thing but it’s not the type of place you want to go for an intimate romantic dining experience. There is a huge rectangular bar that was packed with patrons. There are also lots of high tops in this area as well. Behind it is the main dining area and to the left is another room that is open for regular dining or small functions. Out back is a large patio dining area with a full bar and live entertainment on some nights. There was adequate numbers of staff who were working fast and hard all over the place. We were quickly greeted by our server “Cheryl” who was pleasant, personable attentive, informative and efficient. She answered all our questions and offered suggestions. Our drinks came quickly and were made just right with a generous pour of Vodka. I was eating light and had a house salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was the sweetest I’ve ever had and a enjoyed the change up. I also had an appetizer of scallops wrapped in bacon with maple glaze. They were the best scallops I’ve ever had. The maple glaze was simply amazing. I ate light to save room for dessert. I tried the chocolate peanut butter pie and a cappuccino. Both were perfect. While this was my first time at Mia Regazza it won’t be my last. I’m also going to try their sister breakfast place next door which I assume will be as good as Mia Regazza. In conclusion I highly recommend Mia Regazza for a fine dining experience with great food and...
